Today, I want to 𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐤 the 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 of people about 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡 𝟏: Meditation is a religious practice. 🙏🏻

𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬: Meditation is not a 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧, or a religious substitute, or a philosophy.
You don’t need a guru.
You just need to develop a 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐲 to get results.
You don’t have to believe in anything in particular.
...𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.

𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡 𝟐: Meditation requires you to silence your thoughts. 💭

𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬: Thoughts will never permanently stop happening, the point of mindfulness is to take control of our most precious apparatus: our mind.

By honing the power of your mind and harmonizing the peace, you can focus your energy into what really matters and trains the mind to be completely conscious of one thing at a time.

𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡 𝟑: Meditation requires a lot of time to see results ⏰

𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬:
A minute of proper breathing exercise will make a big difference especially when you're stressed out.

Keep in mind why you want to meditate and make it a priority.

The more you meditate, the more results you can discover.

It doesn’t matter how long or short you spend, consistency is the key.

𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐮𝐩 the 𝘮𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘴 and 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥-𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

How about you, what’s your 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 meditation hesitation? 🧘‍♀️

Comment below your questions, would love to hear from you ✨

@princeadjr is on a mission to help athletes authenticate an unknown space within themselves through mindfulness and meditation practices. His new book is out now and we highly recommend it!

"An infinitesimal difference exists between a good athlete and a great one. To reach the ultimate level of performance, an athlete must first achieve a balance between inner peace and external power. In this book, former NFL running back Prince Daniels, Jr. shares the path to unlocking true potential through the practice of mindfulness and meditation. By diligently applying his practices, athletes can overcome all the noise and prior programming that keep them from attaining their highest goals."

Prince Daniels, Jr. joins our roundtable conversation on racism and social injustice in professional sports. Join the conversation Wednesday, Spet. 9th at Noon EDT/9 am PST. {link in bio}⠀
⠀
Meet the panel:⠀
Prince Daniels, Jr. is a former NFL running back turned practitioner of mindfulness and meditation, author and entrepreneur who lives by the mantra: “Nothing is impossible unless you truly believe it is.” His personal story is one of determination and a true-to-life testimony that anything is possible. Daniels’ football career began as a walk-on for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The NFL’s Baltimore Ravens drafted Daniels in 2006, playing for three seasons until his career ended prematurely in 2009 due to injury. ⠀
⠀
Using meditation as the tool for recovery from his depression and loss of identity, he found his calling of helping professional athletes find their vision and purpose in the game beyond the game, life. Daniels’ new book, Mindfulness for the Ultimate Athlete: Mastering the Balance Between Power and Peace, helps athletes reach the highest level of their game. From an athlete who realized his dreams of playing in the NFL and going on to live a thriving and purpose-driven life, Daniels’s message is nothing short of inspirational.⠀

You're invited to our must attend round table discussion with former NFL players, Alvin Scioneaux Jr., Cameron Lynch, Gerris Wilkinson, and Prince Daniels Jr., as we discuss racism + social injustice in professional sports, Wednesday, Sept. 9th at 9 am PST in conjunction with @PRSA.
(LINK IN BIO TO REGISTER)
⠀
Grab a seat as our CEO + Syracuse University Professor Brad Horn lead the discussion with some of the athletes who live it each day. ⠀
⠀
Since Colin Kaepernick took a knee in 2016 and the subsequent fallout with the NFL following, the country finds itself in a social justice movement pushing for change and true equality. ⠀
⠀
Hear their stories, what you can do to be part of the change and what’s next, as athletes continue to take a stand across all sports, disrupting the norm to be heard and affect change. ⠀
