Bowser Jr.
I really like the Jakks Pacific merch related to the Mario movies. Last time I managed to collect all the 5-inch figures, and now I’m hoping to do the same for the Mario Galaxy movie line.

This is the first figure I’ve found at a decent price. Here in Mexico they’re selling them for more than double the original price, which is honestly insane 😅

A friend of mine is traveling to the US soon, so hopefully she’ll be able to help me get the others.

Did you collect any merch from the movies too? Let me know in the comments! 🎬🎮

rio & King Boo Karts! 🏎️👻

Another birthday present, and such a good one! I absolutely love these Mario Kart LEGO sets. It takes so much creativity to design all these different karts, and building them is always a blast.

I can’t wait to put these together… I just need to figure out where I’m going to place them first 🤣

New Addition: Mario Tennis Fever 🎾🔥

This was my 2nd BD gift! A friend of mine surprised me with it. I definitely had it on my list since I pretty much buy every Mario game 😄. I know the latest Tennis and Golf entries haven’t reached the same level as the older classics, but they’re always fun to play.

This game features Fever Rackets, each with unique powers. Some throw bananas, others launch fireballs, and one even places a volcano on the court that continuously shoots fireballs. There are a lot of different rackets, and I have to admit the matches become absolutely hilarious.

But there’s a catch: if your opponent returns your shot before the ball bounces, the item effect can end up on your side of the court instead. And if you respond before it touches the floor on your side, you can send it back again. This creates complete chaos, especially in doubles matches 😂.

At one point I used the banana racket and had to play against DK and Diddy Kong… there were bananas ALL over the court. I genuinely couldn’t stop laughing 😄🍌

I’ll give my full review once I finish the game!
Did you also pick this one up?

The Addition: Metroid Prime 4 Beyond

The long-awaited new Metroid Prime entry is finally in my hands! Well… technically it’s been in my hands since February 🤣 I actually ordered the game back in November, my mom got it for me as a birthday present, and now here I am in May finally posting about it 😄

I’m definitely not a Metroid Prime expert. I played the remastered version of the first game and also started Prime 2: Echoes, but this one already feels a bit different, in a good way. I’ve been enjoying it a lot so far.

One of my favorite areas has been Fury Green, the level design there is absolutely beautiful.

I’ll save my full thoughts for when I finish the game, but I’ve already made pretty good progress and hope to complete it soon!

Did you get Metroid Prime 4 yet? And if so, which version did you pick up?

Started Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door!

I’ve had this game since Christmas 2024. I actually got it together with Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood, both wrapped, and I picked one… so this one had to wait 😅

I spent quite a bit of time with Mario & Luigi, so I needed a little Mario break and left this one untouched. Now, with the Mario Galaxy movie out, I felt like jumping back into a Mario game, and I almost bought a new one… but decided it was finally time to open this instead.

I’ve only played about 2 hours so far, but so far so good. It feels like a classic Paper Mario experience. I know a lot of people consider this the best one in the series, so I’m excited to see why!

What did you think of this game? Let me know in the comments! 🎮

Are you a fan of how they portray Toad in the Super Mario Movies?
.
The Toad Brigade has officially arrived and honestly? The vibes are immaculate.
.
Whether they’re getting lost in space or just trying to survive a 3D platformer, these guys are the true MVPs of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Finished Games in 2025 🎮

I managed to complete 12 games last year. Not my best result, especially compared to the 23 I finished in 2024. It was a bit of a weird year. I didn’t play as much, partly because of work, and partly because I went through a phase where I barely played at all and focused more on series and movies instead.

Also in 2024 I picked up several games that I had already started, I’ve been working on building the habit of actually finishing what I begin. The list of unfinished games is definitely shorter now. On top of that, I think I’m spending more time with each game, aiming for closer to 100% instead of just rushing to the credits.

My favorite games of the year were Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD.

I still owe you reviews for some of these 😅

Have a great weekend!

A retro gamer’s biggest nightmare? 📺

The big “No Signal” on the ol CRT TV.

Pain. Much pain.

Cables, blowing retro game carts, checking the power supply. Nothing.

Have you been stocking up on candy for Jack? Because I sure haven’t 😅🍬🍭
I hopped on for the first time in a while and my island is a mess lol. Walking around again brought back some great memories though. My wife and I put so much time into building it up, and I think it turned out pretty awesome.
Might have to do a little island tour if anyone’s interested.
How’s your island looking these days?

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
One of those games that just hits different. 🌒 🐺
I remember playing it years ago but never really giving it the time it deserved. Seeing it again makes me want to dive back in, especially if we ever get a release on either of the switches.
The 40th anniversary isn’t far off too… a Twilight Princess remake would be a nice little surprise. What do you think?
