With the drought and Jordan Lake being so low recently, grass has grown in areas I’ve never could have imagined.

Now that the lake level is back to normal, I’ve been wondering if these August bass are moving and staging differently and at least in my opinion, they are.

Over my last three outings, I’ve really been grinding to dial things in, paying close attention and listening to what the bass are telling me each time I’m on the water. Today, it finally came together, and I was able to get on a couple of good ones.

I wanted to share what I’ve been finding because I know it could be beneficial to someone else fishing the same body of water.

The thermocline seems to be setting up around 12–15 feet, and some of the highest percentage areas I’ve been keying on are grass next to or around hard bottom, along with the obvious road beds.

Those are the two main areas I’ve been focused on over the past three outings.

I’ve been throwing the old Wobble Head that I’ve modified with a @spearpoint_hooks 5 ought Offset Worm Hook rigged with a @gamereaper_baits Pic Worm in the 8.1” size, and I’ve also been pitching a 1/4 oz jig around the grass.

Sometimes it’s not about finding a magic spot it’s about paying attention, making adjustments, and letting the fish tell you what they want.

If this post was helpful, it would mean a lot if you’d leave a like. It what helps local content creators like myself grow.
