Well it’s about time I finally said something. In a personal and professional first, I directed, produced, and hosted my very first season of television this year. A brand new PBS North Carolina series called Homegrown History. The series examines how the past shapes North Carolina today. Local communities and families across the state submitted ideas for this first season - which connects 8 different Revolutionary War stories to the present. Producing this series took us all over the state. To Currituck County, to report a story about an enslaved mariner who outwitted British privateers to save his shipmates, then went on to earn his freedom, own land, and his own shipping business. To mountainous Rutherfordton, where we traveled to the site of a community hanging to document a story that reveals just how personal war was here. To Sappony Tribal land, on the border of Virginia and North Carolina, where we learned about a Sappony warrior who was inoculated for small pox while serving at Valley Forge. And even to my own hometown in Harnett County (pictured here), where I met a man fighting to preserve the story of the longleaf pine - which the British used to build their naval empire leading up to the Revolutionary War. I’m overly excited to share that I’ll be the supporting act in NC for Armand Hammer at the end of the month for the start of their ‘Mercy Tour’. Such a full circle moment I remember seeing billy woods perform in Chicago at @subtchicago or me playing Elucids “I Told Bessie” album thinking like dang these joints are good and this flow is next level, or referring back to that Woods performance where he had everyone’s attention in the venue. Such a good time, now I’ll be sharing the stage with them. Buy your tickets now and catch me in Durham and Asheville. @eulogyavl @motorcomh

A little walk-through of the Raund Haus zine. I am really proud of this. It's 60 pages long, full color, with a multi-panel fold-out centerfold, and each one of them (there's 125!) made entirely by the two hands you see featured in this video. Documenting 10 years of Raund Haus, the zine contains a yearbook of the team members, interviews, photos throughout the years, the entire catalog releases on the label, and every show they ever did, including the one that just happened on Feb 28 @_boomclub What a special night! Just being there felt magical. Available online at secretastronomer.bigcartel.com (LINK IN BIO).
