⚜️💜💚💛 I TRIED IT! — MICHIGAN EDITION!

📍 Garden District | Grand Rapids, Michigan

Now y’all know I’m not FROM New Orleans, (been for 20 years now though) but one thing about me, I LOVE that city! And New Orleans has embraced this transplant and allowed me to love it, represent it, and speak on its behalf! 😂⚜️

So when I travel and see a restaurant claiming New Orleans cuisine, I’m definitely going to have something to say! Because everybody can’t do New Orleans food! 😂

BUT BABYYYYY! GARDEN DISTRICT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! 🙌🏽

Owned and operated by Chef Raphael, who was raised on the Westbank of New Orleans and graduated from LB Landry! BIG UPS TO LANDRY! 👏🏽⚜️#

And let me tell you, he brought those New Orleans flavors all the way to Grand Rapids, Michigan!

Not fake New Orleans food. Not somebody’s interpretation of New Orleans food. I’m talking REAL New Orleans cooking! The food was ON POINT!

One of my biggest struggles when I leave New Orleans is finding GOOD food! 😂 New Orleans has spoiled me! And when we see a restaurant claiming New Orleans cuisine in another city, we usually steer clear because we’ve been disappointed one too many times! 😂go!

Chef Raphael, you’re doing your thing in Michigan! 🙌🏽

If you’re ever in Grand Rapids, check out Garden District! This New Orleans transplant approves! 😂💜💚💛

NOLA Escapes — I find it, you do it, I tell you about it!

The fake world that AI can make is mesmerizing. It’s fast, it’s easy. It’s also soul-less.

Real life is hard. People are inconsistent. Weather is unpredictable and unforeseen circumstances challenge our best laid plans.

But with creativity and thoughtfulness, the power of AI can be harnessed to do good for real life, and it starts with supporting local communities.

We use the same technology that creates ai slop for big businesses and instead showcase real humans who own and operate coffee shops, stores and restaurants just a few minutes away from our @artprize exhibit at @kcadgalleries

Behind every great meal is a skilled line cook and a few essential tools.

At Garden District, a Sharpie and a thermometer are must-haves for staying organized, maintaining quality, and keeping service running smoothly.
