After a week of counselling for PTSD, I scrolled through no fewer than 297 photographs from @pistewino birthday party. These are the only ten images that were not blocked by Instagrams sensitivity filter…

Happy birthday Michele. A room full of life’s most wonderful people. We are all SO lucky to call you our friend x

So wonderful to take old friends for such a great weekend @dr.loosen. As always @ernstloosen smashed it out the park... incredible food, wine, Christmas markets and out and out good living. This weekend, above all weekends, was just so special!

One of the most profound wines I've drunk all year! Biondi Santi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 1985. Lord alone knows what it costs but wow, it was fabulous. Aging even better than Gareth Birchley! 😂🍷

Lovely dinner tonight with a few wine trade bods running through mid-level 2005s. Such a good vintage. Not a bad wine amongst them. GPL 2005 like a sultry seductress whispering in your ear. Clerc on the proper side but still grand and an early indication of the quality that's been coming out of this property. DdC and Rauzan very serious. Structured but silky with a sweet core of fruit. Everything had its selling point. A vintage to buy without prejudice. 2000 Le Dome served late in the day as a treat. Seriously good. Modern with classical hints. Overlook it at your cost. Thanks to @portlandrestaurant for great food, as always. Hit up @justerinis for solid fine wine advice. Yah hear me now.
