Is there any place better than @benihana for a birthday?? Always a good time to be had w drinks, tricks, fire, and banter. And the tasty #teppanyaki steaks and seafood, natch! Skip the ice-cold gyoza though—lol. Thanks to our guy Tenzin, and HB PK!

Great meal of Korean-style Chinese food @octo.nyc! We really enjoyed their cumin pork ribs, jajangmyeon w steak, kimchi soup dumplings, five spice cold beef, and Peking duck spring rolls. Looking forward to trying more of their menu soon!

Holiday dinner w the crew @potluckclubny! On the menu: Rice rolls w mushrooms and beef, doubanjiang eggplant, pork potstickers, endive salad, jellyfish tiger salad, XO fried rice w tea egg, salt and pepper chicken w scallion biscuits and plum jam, and chocolate budino w sesame tuile. Also a whole bunch of the coolest craft beers you can find in a can. Always a great time with these guys and this spot. #friedordie

The unhinged smile of a woman who just wrapped a holiday shoot—and got to take her *first-ever* photo with Santa 🧀👀

Thanks to @hollysiegel for the chance to work on this adventure of a holiday spot this year—and to experience all of the nonstop headline-making, “Foodture”-based thrills that came along with it 🥨🙃🍕✨#ohwhatfun

Last week’s exceptional dinner @ilisnyc Greenpoint pt.2. If the first half of the meal was the “ice” part of the concept, the second part of the tasting menu leaned into “fire.”

1. Tuna grilled on kombu w sunflower butter.
2. Roasted mushroom bbq w mushroom garum butter.
3. Mushroom broth w herbs.
4. Chinese yellow chicken w habanada, miso butter, and bitter greens.
5. Seckel pear w kombu and sake lees ice cream.
6. Bread pudding? w crème fraîche ic.
7. Wall of quinces.
8–9. Interiors
10. Entrance w no signage that took me 10 minutes to find—lol.

Again, definitely one of this year’s best restaurant openings. Reservations are fairly hard to come by, but keep trying—it’s worth it!

Exploring a creative take on Thai street food at the newly-opened @bangkoksupperclubnyc! We had the flank steak tartare w rice chips, fried duck egg and trout roe, mushroom salad, beef cheek massaman curry, brown butter lobster on sticky rice, and the pork jowl and crackling garlic fried rice. Dishes were solid (could have used a little more pop), but service and vibe were great! 😁🧈🦞🍙

@yubutart’s excellent 13-course tasting menu is one of the best deals in NYC! Thoughtful, inventive, and delicious—a deal at $75. Fave bites: fluke w watermelon, lobster w nori sabayon, duck w chili, and melona soft serve w prosciutto chips. Go now! 😋

Dinner w the boys @marksoffmadison! Really enjoyed the Lasagne Della Nonna: w thin layers of pasta, beef bolognese, bechamel, and Parmesan in a tomato cream sauce w pesto drizzle; the big pretzel w mustard and charcuterie; and the pear and apple shortcake w a cinnamon biscuit, whipped cream, and lots of caramel.
