From group member @shirascottastrof

Today, on my way down Runyon Canyon, I heard a woman scream. A man (approx 5’4, Latino, wearing all black, hoodie) was hurling massive rocks at her and then started to throw them at others. I tried to calm him down but he just stared at me with this vacant look. It was terrifying. She and I both called 911, and the few hikers left scrambled uphill to get away.

This is just the latest in our neighborhood lately. We’ve got people starting fires, assaults, theft, etc . We’re repeatedly told our City Councilmember is the one to hold accountable- her job is to implement the measures that keep us safe.

Weeks ago, Nithya Raman claimed she’d “increase” Park Rangers and security at Runyon.

I’m there every single day and have NEVER seen one.
Tonight, I even waited. No Ranger.
When police finally arrived hours later, they told me my call was marked “not urgent.” Not urgent? A man attacking hikers with boulders apparently doesn’t qualify as urgent in Los Angeles anymore.

Well done, Nithya.
