My aim going into my first Edinburgh Fringe was to just throw myself in, develop connections and gain as much knowledge as I possibly could.

I came away with so much more than I could have possibly imagined…

I learnt how to tech a wonderful show (a great new skill to add to my belt!) which had a successful run.

I got to work on and see a bunch of lovely shows.

I developed friendships with a bunch of lovely Australian Clowns I met earlier in the year (so grateful to have fell into this community - love you all)

I had 3 artists ask me to produce their shows??? When I don’t yet know how to produce?? HONOURED. (Watch this space, I will be learning all I can 👀)

I made some wonderful new connections.

I got to re-connect with friends I’ve not seen in years.

AND I had my first fringey birthday! 🥳

Feeling very grateful for the experience and proud of myself for flying across the world to make it happen regardless of the uncertainty of work!

(Yes this is my 3rd sum up post of Fringe but a lot happened okay)

Time keeps moving so fast… yesterday contained so many joyful moments…

Seeing Damien Warren-Smith’s beautiful WIP performance of Too Clowns at @shedinburgh_fest and my friends @suzanna_rosenthal and @olivia.j.jacobs (the show’s director) afterward. We all three met at the fringe nearly over 25 years ago.

Bumping into @iampippaevans backstage at @comedyclub4kids and feeling another whoosh of love for my showstopper days.

Dear Brian Cox coming to support @thebobrosseffect.

Meeting @yozihaha after her wonderful performance in My Grandpa Doesn’t Follow Me On Instagram.

How can all these things happen on the same day?

And before you know it, it’s the morning and you’re running into your lovely friend @monskimouse, racing through the rain to begin our days again.

Brief moments of connection and stillness amongst all the movement and noise. Thank you Edinburgh.

This @garrythestarr is literally the bollocks. Go watch his indescribable, raucous, hilarious literary show about Penguin Classics. It contains the best Communism-inspired joke ever - and bear in mind I lived in China for more than a decade so I’ve heard a few. And a truly unforgettable Moby Dick pun…

🎭 Richard's Theatre Reviews Recapped 🎭

What a crazy year 2025 has been. In March, I decided to really push myself to see if I could expand this little social media account and talk more about my favourite thing in the whole world, Theatre! And it took me on a wild rollercoaster 😂

From West End Press Nights (a pinch me moment), Press Nights on the River Thames, Edinburgh Fringe Madness, getting to interview THE @garrythestarr , Dublin Fringe Festival, many nights at the @bordgaisenergytheatre , seeing performances at the @abbeytheatredublin and seeing @druidtheatre to name just a few.

I thought it would be fun to name some of my favourite shows and performances! So here they are:

Favourite Shows
Don't Tell Dad About Diana (Edinburgh and Fringe)
@donttelldadaboutdiana
Garry Starr Classic Penguins (Edinburgh Fringe
@garrythestarr
Macbeth (Druid Theatre Company)
@druidtheatre
Moulin Rouge (World Tour, Bord Gais Energy Theatre) @moulinmusicaluk
