When thinking of the first piece I wanted to choreograph, I knew I wanted it to be a culmination of the dance genres I grew up training in at @premieredancetheatre : Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, African, Horton, Graham (we only got 4 min so tap will have to be in another piece 🤭).

When initially hearing this song, I knew the various beat patterns would be perfect for the type of piece I was trying to create & the musicality of this piece was my favorite challenge.

I wanted to tribute this piece to my life-long Ballet teacher, the late Mr. Kyne Franks, who always told me to never stop dancing, and continued to push me towards new potential. Thank you for always inspiring me 🤍🦋🫂

I titled the piece “Le Voyage Du Danseur” because Ballet terminology is French, so it was a nice Easter egg to my Ballet beginnings. The title translates to “A Dancer’s Journey”, for as dancers, we all come from many different backgrounds and are all on our own paths, but dance will always bring us together.

I wanted my dancers to wear skin-toned leotards and shorts to show off their beautiful individuality and the unique textures within their movements. And it was a little insane to squeeze a 30 sec quick change in there but we did it! 🙈🤭😅

Thank you to my amazing dancers for helping me achieve one of my longest goals/dreams of choreographing. I couldn’t have asked for a better cast of talent and I’m so proud of what we were able to create together. I love you all sm 🫂

SUPERSCAR | Spring 2026 | @launbound

A love letter to the parts of ourselves we spent too long believing needed to change

Superscar was my reminder that we don’t have to earn our place by becoming someone we’re not. There’s freedom in trusting yourself and wearing every part of your story with pride.

To my cast, thank you for choosing this piece and for giving so much of yourselves to it. Each of you brought something that no one else could, so thank you for sharing your superscars with me while helping me share mine. This piece holds little parts of all of us now, and I think that’s what makes it so special to me. I hope everyone gets to see you the way I do because you’re worthy of being seen just as you are. I couldn’t be more proud of what we created together.

What a fun way to end a season! Here’s to new eras and all the beautiful beginnings still waiting for us 🩵🩷
