A perfect summer Saturday in East Hampton!
The day started with a sunrise beach run and then on to the big tent…
Amazing to be included in such a distinguished roster of authors for the @easthamptonlibrary event of the season! Authors Night was a resounding success and a special treat to be seated alongside colleagues, old friends, new friends and the great Pulitzer prize winning Robert A. Caro! “The Power Broker” is truly one of greatest biographies of all time!
I was proud to share “Kindred Spirits: A Titanic Tale” and meet many other Titaniacs!
Today will bring the Children’s Fair for another afternoon of fun in the sun.

Another Birthday in the Books!
I’ve had many memorable birthdays over the years...my Mom always made sure they were special celebrations. The fact that mine falls with the big summer holiday, it always gets prolonged for extra fun and finishes off with fireworks!

This year was no exception and stretched from a lavish dinner at @lebernardinny to a festive @verdellonyc dinner party at home with fabulous friends & topped off with cocktails in our rooftop cabana. Heaven on earth. And so many wonderful, thoughtful cards, gifts and wine-wine-wine!

All I could wish when I blew out the candles on my spectacular @lasweetsny pineapple coconut cake was for many more years of the same happiness. Here’s a little photo dump keepsake.

Today is National Social Media Day!

In these First Look Behind-the-scenes shots, please meet Sylvie & Sly!

Last February, my talented friends (Emmy nominated TV & Broadway legend) Ilene Kristen and (multi-award winning TV director) Gary Donatelli asked me to read a play by Joanna Pickering. I always love performing with Ilene—usually musically—so I wasn’t a bit surprised by how much fun we had acting the title roles of “Sylvie and Sly.” Sylvie is an insecure film star of the 1980s trying to resuscitate her flagging career with the help of her longtime friend turned social media manager, the toupee-wearing Sly. Theirs is a hilarious love/hate relationship and we all instantly recognized the project’s potential.

Finding out June 30 is “National Social Media Day,” I suggested we perform the play then, but brainstorming resulted in discussion of developing it as a new Vertical series. Last weekend, after much rehearsal, we finally teamed with Gary’s hard working crew to shoot it all as 19 (!) continuous episodes. Watch this space for an announcement of when and where you’ll be able to binge and share in the tragicomedy of outrageous “Sylvie & Sly.”

Described as “an explosive and sharp commentary on social media,” you will certainly laugh, but don’t be surprised if you also shed a tear or two.

Hello, November!
October was a wild ride of friends and fun, work and play. These were some of the month’s most memorable moments and now it’s time for me to batten down the hatches as I put the finishing touches on two (!) new books and prepare for a holiday season filled with travel....from Hollywood to Hong Kong...plus a long-awaited return to New South Wales, Australia to visit Sydney & Port Stephens.

WE LOCKED MY SCRIPT!!!!!!!! 48 HOURS TO GO! A rewrite a day culminating in two final drafts in the space of two hours meaning we did our penultimate rehearsal all on a different script! 😂❤️🫠✍🏼🤪

I wrote the end in live rehearsal—an improvement on Bad Victims which didn’t have an end until I wrote it performing on stage with a sold out audience and west ends Richard Emerson improv’ing the lines back to me. COME SEE MY PLAY ITS GONNA BE GREAT! 😊

The greatest thing about developing a script with actors is all their input and generosity to give and take beyond the call of duty ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Biggest thanks to this superstar team. 💫❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
