19 years ago I found myself at my lowest. After many failed relationships, and seeking for something to fulfill me I decided I was done.
I used to work overnight at Sam’s Club in Linden NJ. On a Saturday morning I decided to call out because my plan was to “UN-ALIVE” myself.
If you’ve never been that low then I applaud you. But I just couldn’t. Nothing was going right.
I grabbed a full bottle of Tylenol PM.
The I wrote a letter saying goodbye to my loved ones.
I open the bottle and I told GOD “Don’t let me live”
The next thing i remember “I woke up”. I was confused.
I looked for the pills because the last thing I remember I had them in my hand about to take them all.
But they were all on my bed.
Every Single ONE.
I look at the time and it said it was Sunday Morning.
I was even more confused because I called out Saturday Morning. So I counted the pills 3 more times…and NOT ONE WAS Missing.
I got off the bed and proceeded to Cursed at GOD.
I asked Him…
“Why didn’t you let me do it???”
“You are so selfish”
“You really must hate me”
“Why didn’t you let me die?”
After that las question my mother knocks on my rooms door. I composed myself and said “yes mami?”
She then said “You have to come to church with me today..please…”
With anger in my heart I said the first thing that came out of my mouth. I said…..“OK”
Before that morning I didn’t want anything to do with God or even church for that matter. But the word “OK” came out my mouth.
I got dressed and walked out my room door. My chest was heavy. My mind was racing. But something kept me under control enough to make it to the service.
We get there and the sermon starts. “The Pastor starts talking about Depression and anxiety. According to what he was saying I realized that’s why I was feeling…
I remember being soo upset at my mom thinking to myself “Why didn’t she tell this man my business?” But she didn’t.
At the end of the sermon the pastor makes an altar call..
and I didn’t go up.
We left the church that morning. But I walked in angry…and walked out different. Something happened to me internally that I didn’t understand…and thats when my journey back to the Lord started…
