Okay, shall we end the workweek with a last round from the #kekkekarrentexelrally that took place last weekend? As I captured this one while competing in the chaos that rally is. Again just a “spot”, not a competing car.
If one car in my youth would sum up “Nijmegen” best it’s the Renault 4 somehow. Nijmegen, also known as “Havana aan de Waal” to underline it’s left-wingyness, was packed with these in the ‘80’s. Often with the famous “kernenergie, nee bedankt” sticker. And somehow that image got stuck in my mind…
Needless to say I adore the R4 nowadays after driving one for two weeks in Italy a few years ago. Driving up in the mountains surrounding Cortina d’Ampezzo, even meeting Nicola (@nicolafesta76) there for lunch. Driving all the way up there from Caorle which is situated 160km southwards on the Golfo di Venezia. Very capable cars I’d say.
PS. Nicola also helped me out with the legal side of this week’s project: driving a car from Scicli (Sicily) to Düsseldorf with Michael (@m.cedda). Thanks Nicola & Michael! That trip of 2445kms wasn’t done with an R4 though. More on that later. Maybe…

I spotted this one first in Breda’s city center, parked impossibly for decent capturing. The morning later, it was parked around the corner of our house.
Not sure if one of ny neighbors had his/her Swiss banker over, looking at those plates. And as a former owner of a 928S: didn’t the “S” always have front and rear spoilers? I know mine had (and no clearcoat left whatsoever)…
