“Immense love for food and cooking runs in the family. I grew up watching my father handpicking spices in the market and then spending hours in the kitchen, cooking extravagant and authentic dishes just like my grandfather before him. From slow-cooked curries, tea-infused mutton pulao to ice creams and brewing wine, my grandfather and father have been my biggest inspiration.
I stepped into the kitchen when I was about 9, coming up with absurd Maggi renditions and I’ve never looked back since. Hours and hours of watching professional chefs like Gordon Ramsay and reading Matt Preston’s blog, I was exposed to a whole new world where cooking was not just about preparing a meal, but part of creating an experience. I started experimenting with different flavours and whipping up something new every day which would then be critiqued by the family, Masterchef style.
I started @gastronomer_ in June 2017 trying to encapsulate my passion into something tangible. Fast forward three years into the lockdown, our inability to get hygienic food through the usually trusted channels made me see the potential for a ghost restaurant run by one man.
I brought to market a unique range of burgers, handmade pasta and never seen before dessert,exactly 3 years into starting my blog and the response has been amazing. I hope to continue bringing new and unique delicacies to peoples’ tables in the future.”
