It has been such a fulfilling trip to LA. Brandon and I weren’t about to miss two incredible milestones happening on the very same day—my best friend’s first baby shower, which was absolutely amazing, and my first group exhibition outside the Central Valley.

A huge thank you to @thinkspace_art and @breagallery for selecting my work for such an outstanding exhibition. It is an honor to exhibit alongside so many impactful artists, each offering their own interpretations, dreams, and nightmares of what this nation could become during these dark and uncertain times.

It was especially meaningful to see several talented artists from Fresno represented in the exhibition and absolutely thriving. Thank you to everyone who came out to support me and the rest of the Central Valley artists—your encouragement means more than you know.

There were many moments of uncertainty and doubt about where my work was headed, but I chose to take a chance, trust my instincts, submit the work, and let the future unfold. I’m grateful I listened to my gut instead of the doubts—it still feels surreal.

I leave this trip with a full heart, grateful for everyone I’ve met, every conversation I’ve had, and this reminder that growth often begins the moment we step beyond what feels familiar, stop assuming the impossible, and for me : to commit to making work that still captures the beauty, vulnerability, and agency of Black women and girls.

I cherish this milestone, and I truly believe it is only the beginning. Here’s to whatever opportunities lie ahead! 🙏🏾

More art to come!

i wish i were drunk all the time:

nothing but love to all the “patrons”— all the friends that had a drink ((or two)) for the filming of this video,, my company is yours eternal ! i had a lot of fun editing this footage and chopping up your glittering, sometimes inebriated faces. @xianamireya AGAIN behind the camera and @goldsteinsbeer as the most local of locales

almost through the EP, so thank you to everyone for listening
