POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In the last two days, together with a team of volunteers at Aspire Alliance [@aspirealliances], we were honoured to have joined the #GatefieldHealthSummit 2026 at Maha Event Centre, Abuja, as active participants. During the two-day summit, we explored how to scale healthcare solutions across Africa.

The conversation was full of deeply productive insights, and created a healthy avenue of networking with development partners, civil society leaders and stakeholders.

Thank you for the experience @Gatefieldco, see you again next year!

Until next time #GatefieldHealthSummit And to you reading this don’t forget to keep advocating for scaling what works in the healthcare sector in Nigeria, and also encourage pregnant and breast-feeding mothers to take multiple micronutrients supplements for the benefit of their health and that of their baby.

Have you ever attended an event thinking you were just going to listen, only to leave with so much more to think about?

That was my experience at the Gatefield Health Summit 2026.

From AI in healthcare and cancer research to nutrition, maternal health, and the challenges many Nigerians face in accessing healthcare, there was so much to learn.

One thing that really stayed with me was the conversation around scaling what works. Because having solutions is one thing, but making sure they reach the people who need them is another.

I also loved the conversation about storytelling in health and how the stories we tell can influence people's attitudes and health decisions.

I left with a lot to reflect on and a deeper appreciation for the work that goes into improving healthcare in Nigeria.

Because at the end of the day, it's not just about finding solutions. It's about making a real difference in people's lives.

All thanks to @gatefieldimpact for the effort they put into this summit and the opportunity for us to learn.

This week, I have been part of two health sector conversations and one is the @gatefieldssa health summit

2 days at summit made one thing crystal clear: We already know what works to save lives. The real challenge is making sure those solutions actually reach our communities.

Swipe through for 3 key takeaways, including a powerful clip in Slide 2 from a woman who’s navigated living with diabetes for 18 years.

Which area of healthcare do you think needs faster scaling in our communities? Drop your thoughts below! 👇

Things at the #GatefieldHealthSummit that just made sense!

A lot but the one I am most excited about was learning about the Multiple Micronutrient Supplement (MMS) for Pregnant and Breastfeeding Women. It’s a supplement that combines different nutrients that pregnant and breastfeeding women require to support their immune systems and babies.

Well done, @gatefieldimpact! You all are really scaling what matters with your work.

Day 2 of the Gatefield Health Summit 2026 ended with a picture-perfect moment with MMS!🤍

Scaling what works starts with making people aware of what works. And today, I got to see MMS up close and help take the conversation on maternal nutrition beyond the summit hall.

Because the right information can make a difference! 🌍💙

Gatefield Health Summit Day 2🥳

Such an intelligent gathering with conversations on scaling systems and solutions to improve health in Nigeria

The conversations centered around maternal health, AI in health, storytelling for behavior change and what needs to be improved that is already working.

Thank you to the organizers of this event, @gatefieldimpact it was a time well invested for me.

How much do people know about MMS and its role in maternal nutrition?

I took the conversation to attendees at the Gatefield Health Summit to hear their thoughts and questions about multiple micronutrient supplements.

Raising awareness is one step. Making sure women can access the information and support they need is another.

What do you know about Maternal Nutrition?

Meet MMS! It stands for Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation.

The bottle in the picture is the Kirk Humanitarian UNIMMAP, approved by NAFDAC and the Federal Government, a supplement made for pregnant and breastfeeding women. It contains 15 essential vitamins and minerals, including iron and folic acid, that help support a mother’s health and her baby’s development.

Why does it matter?
Pregnancy puts extra nutritional demands on a woman’s body. Iron helps prevent iron-deficiency anaemia, while folic acid is important for a baby’s early development.

This is why maternal health matters so so so much. Taking care of a mother isn’t just about getting her through pregnancy and childbirth. It’s also about making sure she has the nutrients and care she needs, because her health matters too!

So, if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your healthcare provider about the supplements that are right for you.

And if you know an expectant mum, send this post to her! We need to have more conversations about maternal nutrition, because every mother deserves care, and every baby deserves a healthy start.

Are you pregnant or know someone who is? This is worth knowing!

MMS (Multiple Micronutrient Supplements) contains 15 essential vitamins and minerals, including iron and folic acid, to support maternal nutrition during pregnancy. 💚

At the Gatefield Health Summit, we explored why solutions like MMS matter and why access to proper nutrition must reach every woman who needs it.

Because healthier mothers mean a stronger start for the next generation. 🌍💙 @gatefieldimpact
