Future providers, mothers, fathers, gainfully employed workers, societal contributors, leaders, world changers.

@starfishkenya , a grassroots 501(c)(3), has been vested in children in Kenya since 2001. I started as a supporter in 2003 then a golf tournament organizer and fundraiser in 2006. I never looked back as I moved into executive administration then logistical planning and training of mission teams to the present day.

Fast forward 22 years and 18-20 trips to the African continent later, I marvel at how God has provided in so many ways to give a hope and a future to so many children and adults both in Kenya and to the many U.S. mission teams who have faithfully served. Through the generous giving and prayers by many sponsors, partners and donors, countless children have been able to rise out of very difficult life circumstances to advance through grade school, middle school, and high school. Some have even gone beyond into higher education gaining vocational, technical, and university level training. These children have been mentored, empowered and taught by tireless staff led by the remarkable leadership on the ground.

God is good all of the time, and all of the time God is good. Thankful and grateful to be able to serve Stateside and in the field. Humbled to witness His great love, creation, and splendor time and time again. I’ve been sharpened also, serving alongside so many stout people over the years on both continents 🇰🇪 🇺🇸 . Blessed.

Have loved dancing all my life with music often times on more hours of the day than not. It’s a love romance and a gift that I am blessed to impart. Thankful to be able to share my passion with this rising star generation, Grade 4 through Form 4 (4th-12th), at House of Hope (HOH). May each child and adult at HOH be blessed and go on to do great and mighty things in life. Nakupenda Kenya 🇰🇪.

Day 4, our last day of camp, we heard stories that reminded us that finishing God's way has eternal rewards. A life lived out in surrender to God and humility before God will bring eternal salvation.

"I have learned to be satisfied with what I have and with whatever happens. Philippians 4:11"

Many, many thanks to all our campers for coming to spend time with us this week. It is truly a joy to know you. Your energy and enthusiasm bring joy to us all! To our countless volunteers, we could not do this with all of you. To our partner churches, thank you for being God's church and strengthening our community through unity!

Until next year, COA campers, let us run with perseverance, the race marked out for us!
