The Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri is the smallest national park in the U.S. at just 91 acres.

The arch stands at 630 feet tall, making it the tallest man-made monument not only in the U.S., but in the western hemisphere. 😮

Cross Country Diaries • Final Day

One last adventure before Kentucky!

I had already driven across the country, stopped for every National Park and weird roadside attraction I could fit in, and I still had one more place on my list.

Gateway Arch National Park. ✨

It’s massive in person, and such a fun final stop to stretch my legs after days of watching the country change through my windows.

Then it was back in the car.

No more side quests.

Next stop: my new life in Kentucky. 🤍

One of my absolute favorite spots in STL. 🇪🇺✨

Sometimes I feel like I’m in Europe… except I’m standing along the Mississippi River, in Arch National Park, with the historic Eads Bridge behind me — a true architectural masterpiece dating back to 1874. The oldest bridge on the Mississippi River I believe.

Old-world charm, incredible architecture, and a little European romance right here in St. Louis. ❤️

Some places just have a soul. This is one of them. 💗

The Camp Snap 2

@campsnapcamera was nice enough to send me out a Camp Snap 2 to try out, these are my thoughts after carrying it for a month. I have been following their project since the original and I have the say the 2 is a big step in the right direction. The original (while obviously aimed towards kids to take camping with them) sparked a lot of interest from the photo community pretty early on. A screen free digicam was a cool idea and I was excited to see what they did with it. The first version definitely had some issues with exposing images properly, especially when the lighting was rather dynamic. The 2 is significantly better at properly exposing images. Obviously if its a super dynamic scene it can still struggle if it ends up metering for a really dark point, but generally it is light years ahead of the original. The built in profiles are really nice, I am a huge fan of Vintage 1 and Vintage 2. The black and white is also fun to play with since I don't really shoot it often in my day to day. Obviously the camera has a very plastic build but thats kind of the point. I really like that they leaned into the plastic idea and made the see-through 90's style. A few of the downsides I see to it (but its literally just because its a small sensor with a disposable lens) are: it isn't great at low light situations and often shadows get some color noise, which is easily and quickly removable if you care about it. If you have some harsher edges in a photo you will get some of that "digital look" but I think that is strictly because of the sensor size. The only other thing I don't really like is that its an LED flash. It gives that sort of iPhone effect. They did end up figuring that out and putting a Xenon flash on the CS-Pro which helps a lot with getting that flash on flim look. Overall I am genuinely surprised by how this little basically toy camera performed. It gave me the same feeling that film does, forgetting what I took and being excited to see the photos when I finally get home.

The Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri, is a 630-foot-tall stainless steel weighted catenary arch, making it the world's tallest arch and the tallest man-made monument in the Western Hemisphere. Designed by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen and completed in 1965, the monument commemorates President Thomas Jefferson's vision and the historic role of St. Louis as the "Gateway to the West" for American pioneers and the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
