Psalm 149:1-2
“Hallelujah!
Sing to the LORD a new song,
his praise in the assembly of the faithful.
Let Israel celebrate its Maker;
let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.”

It’s such a blessing to be able to praise the LORD in everything we do. To be able to pour out every ounce of energy into teaching these kids the Gospel everyday is an awesome experience. I am so thankful for my team. Every single one of them has made a tremendous impact on my life whether I have known them for 5 years or just a week and I can’t wait to be part of this ministry again.

Shout out God!

Pine Cove City

I was hesitant to do City at first because, selfishly, I wanted to be at a “real camp” where I would be outdoors all the time and staying overnight in cabins. You know, all the camp stuff. Looking from the outside in, it didn’t quite seem like my vibe, but oh my days was I wrong.

City has been one of the most unique things I have ever been a part of. It is so beautiful that we get to partner with local churches for the week and have camp where many of the kids call home. Each day, we have the privilege to preach the good news of Jesus Christ to our campers for 7 hours straight. At the end of every day, parents, believer or non-believer, are forced to step into the walls of a church to pick up their kids, greeted with love and encouraged by their children’s faith, which could move them into pursuing a faith of their own or becoming a part of the local church.

We also take part in host homes where families of the church show us hospitality by opening their doors and creating a space for us to eat, sleep, and commune. I was so blessed to get to go to their homes after a long day and be poured into by their wisdom and pour into their children. It truly felt like I never left home because I always had family around.

The community I found with my fellow staff was like nothing I’ve ever experienced. In five weeks, 40 strangers became brothers and sisters united through the blood of Jesus Christ. Sharpening each other, breaking bread with one another, and laughing together. All with one goal in mind, that is, to love God and love others. We got to witness young campers submit their lives to Jesus and be written into the book of life.

I am tearing up writing this, not because I am sad, but by the grace and mercy that we do not deserve, we got to witness fruit not promised and the advancement of the Kingdom. Thank you Jesus!!
