𝘖𝘜𝘛 𝘖𝘍 𝘖𝘙𝘋𝘌𝘙 ⚠️
October 21st - November 2nd, 2026
Reception: Wednesday, October 28th, 5:30pm-7:30pm
Bolsky Gallery, Otis College of Art and Design, 9045 Lincoln Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045
Open to the public, daily: 10am - 7pm

What happens between the idea and the finished work?

𝘖𝘜𝘛 𝘖𝘍 𝘖𝘙𝘋𝘌𝘙 invites viewers into the hidden territory of artistic process, where ideas take shape, decisions are tested, and the unexpected redirects the work. Sketches, notes, material experiments, revisions, and abandoned ideas reveal what finished artwork often conceals: uncertainty, labor, and curiosity that create artistic practice. Here, what might otherwise remain private, preliminary, or discarded becomes a point of encounter.

Bringing together nine artists, the exhibition considers process as both a way of thinking and a form of making. Ideas evolve through experimentation, unexpected discoveries, and the willingness to abandon one direction for another. These works resist the assumption that artistic practice moves neatly from conception to completion. Instead, they make visible the detours, contradictions, and unresolved questions through which art develops.

By shifting attention from the finished object to the conditions of its making, 𝘖𝘜𝘛 𝘖𝘍 𝘖𝘙𝘋𝘌𝘙 challenges the distinction between preparation and presentation, between what is shown and what is left behind. What happens when the process is no longer hidden behind the work, but given space to stand on its own?

Including work by: Emily Bodeman, Cecilia Cortez De Moraes, Kelly Ericksen, Eva Feng, Gavin Gronquist, Kassidi Heidemann, Sissi Yunjiao Wang, Alicyn Stoltz, and Dimitriy Tiunelis.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to come to our show, and to everyone who got involved into our group’s programming!

Alibi Collective opened their fall 2026 group exhibition on September 11, 2026. ‘Who is My Neighbor’ (2026) requested for its viewers to reflect on community, and what it means to coexist alongside many in an increasingly divided world. Artists explored connection, belonging, distance, and the social structures that shape how we understand and relate to one another.

We’re so grateful for all of the love and support that has been bestowed upon us.
