Happy Thursday everyone! Today we’re kicking off our leadership intros with none other than our president, Gavin Tantleff! As an MSOM mellophone and a junior Computer Science major, Gavin leads our chapter with so much swag, you could almost say he’s surfin’ 🏄‍♂️

Comin’ in hot with a meticulously-crafted Mello monday, we have our resident junior Gavin Tantleff! Gavin’s a pretty cool cat, being president of the Gamma Xi chapter of @kkpsi_gammaxi? holy mackerel 🐠, talk about a man with some mustached plans! 🥸 When he’s not busy with that or mellophone, Gavin can be found NOT planning cunning coups on Sunil’s goblin empire (but even if he was, don’t tell him)

“Be extremely subtle even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent’s fate.”

End of MSOM recap!
it was such a wild ride with this group, can’t believe how quickly it’s come and gone. Both these mellophones being such good people, and the culture cultivated by the greater swaths of our band, our GA staff, and Dr Andrea Brown and Potter, are truly what’s made The 117th Mighty Sound of Maryland so special to me. It wasn’t without its challenges, and there were some stretches where the time commitment felt ludicrous, but it’s pushed me in ways that i’m sure will help shape me into a far better student and performer as I go into a new spring semester and beyond. Thank you for all you’ve done MSOM, and hopefully see you next year!
