It’s a great day to be a Sooner.

Tomorrow, “we strip this down to the studs and start over..”

Oklahoma High School football was well represented this weekend in college football. Here are some notable stats and highlights from around CFB:

Former Bixby star Brennan Presley caught 5 passes for 83 yards in Oklahoma State’s win over Central Michigan. On the other side of the ball, Beggs product Kendal Daniels recorded 11 tackles and a pick, and Jason Taylor II from Carl Albert had 9 tackles.

Several Oklahoma natives stood out for OU in their 45-13 win over the UTEP Miners. This includes Heritage Hall’s Gavin Freeman’s 46 yard rushing touchdown. Also on the ground, Marcus Major from Millwood ran in 2 TDs for the Sooners. They got help from center and former Broken Arrow standout Andrew Raym. Gentry Williams, also for the Sooners, caught an interception. He played his high school days at Booker T. Washington.

Lastly, 2 former OK football players, who are now out of state, stood out for their respective schools. Newcastle’s Casey Thompson threw for nearly 200 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Nebraska Cornhuskers in their win over North Dakota. Devonte Lee, from John Marshall, scored twice for his Nevada Wolfpack, helping them defeat Texas State.

We hope to see these guys and others succeed as the season continues.
