Synapse has arrived. 3 years in the making. Link in bio.

Synapse is an experimental psychedelic sci-fi short film and music video by @media-band . It gives the viewer a short window into a dimension inhabited by beings systematically working to convert our world into a colorless desert. Set to the song of the same title from Media’s self-titled debut album.

This project is only about 5 minutes long, but took nearly 3 years to complete. With the exception of a few shots, this video was done entirely by the band. There was no budget to speak of, so we had to figure out how to get these images on our own. We converted existing equipment to get the infrared shots. It required over a dozen remote location shoots, over 3000 miles of driving, and at least 1000 hours of editing. All of the VFX techniques were learned or from improvised from scratch, on a 2016 iMac (RIP). Every frame of this video required some element of manual rotoscoping. It was an absolute labor of love getting this video over the finish line.

Take a ride and enjoy.

Our new single, Psycho, is out right now on all platforms! We've been excited to share this one for a while. It's the first song we've recorded in our new studio space and it marks a slight turn in the sound of Lovelaced. Thank you all for being patient and excited. Thank you to @davidseiler_ for helping us with bass while we're between players. Stay tuned because there's more to come!
