﷽
"Fitna" - CSUN Film Showcase 2025

I grateful for all those who helped me on my way to this moment. To my mentors and school factulty- to my beloved cast and crew, for which only a few are tagged in this post but many more played the most critical parts in crafting this film- and to my father, my greatest supporter and the man who named me after his father.

And above all I am grateful to my Lord, Allah سبحانه و تعالى, the Creator and Sustainer from Whom all blessings are bestowed.

The first of many more films and many more premieres to come, إن شاء الله.

As-Salaamu Alaikum, peace be with you all.

Getting this post in just under the wire before the clock kicks over to 2025.

In short, 2024 was a year full of CELEBRATIONS!!

Early in the year, Mae got her first haircut! And she actually enjoyed it. Unlike her father, who spent most of his childhood screaming, clawing, and running from his own shadow. She's a tough kid though.

And Mae turned TWO!! Then two weeks later... she broke her arm. But she recovered. A broken bone ain't no thang for her. She's resilient. Brave. Strong. And full of life.

We went to Disneyland for the first time as a family (and of course it wouldn't be family without "Auntie Sammi.")

In TELEVISION. I booked TWO TV Shows. A Guest Star role on Wild West Chronicles. And then a Recurring Role on BOOKIE: Season Two along with my amazing wife Emily. We also both joined SAG-AFTRA this year!

In FILM: I went to two film premieres where I was fortunate to play THE LEAD (a career first). One in "Union Avenue," a Cal State Northridge Thesis short film, which premiered at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. And then went to the premiere of "Alien: Rubicon," courtesy of The Asylum.

As an Audiobook Narrator, I'm so grateful to have built working relationships with THREE New Publishers in 2024; including Podium Audio (@podiumentertainment), One Night Stand Studios (@onenightstandstudios), and Sparks Fly Studios (@sparksflystudios).

To wrap up the year, Mae got a visit from Santa Claus all the way down in San Antonio, Texas. So glad we got to spend the holidays with my Mom and family. It was such a special time. And we got to pet baby goats while having coffee at @goatshenanigans! The goats names?... Leonardo, Donatello, Rafael, and Michelangelo. Say no more. You had me at Kowabunga!! 🐐 🥷 🐢

We decided to close out the year with potty training. And of course, Mae is absolutely crushing it. So while you youngsters are out partying and throwing back shots, Emily and I are knocking out on the couch before dragging our asses to bed. To wake up at 7am, and continue the potty training because, y'know... masochism? 🤔

Cheers to all of you. May 2025 be even better!
