🌱🌻 Growing Together, Rooted in Community! 🌎💚

Proud to kick off the Growing Together Conference with Urban Farming Education, Project Grow, and Grand Canyon University!

Agriculture has always been part of my story. Growing up in Salinas and Hollister, California, my summers were spent picking, pitting, drying, and bagging apricots. 🍑

The smell of homemade apricot jam still takes me back to my childhood. And yes, apricot jam remains my kryptonite! 😂❤️

My mom was composting and juicing long before it became trendy! ♻️ She taught me that nothing should go to waste and that caring for our soil means caring for our future.

Growing up alongside hardworking Hispanic and Filipino immigrant farming families also taught me the value of agriculture, sacrifice, and community. Their contributions helped feed America and shaped my commitment to public service. 🇵🇭❤️

That’s why I’m especially proud to have sponsored Arizona’s first state compost bill, encouraging state agencies to use locally produced compost to improve soil health, conserve water, and support Arizona agriculture. 🌿💧

As a mom and legislator, I believe every child deserves the opportunity to get their hands in the soil, understand where their food comes from, and experience the joy of growing something.

Growing together isn’t just about what we plant in the ground. It’s about what we plant in the hearts and minds of our children. 🌱💚

Thank you to the incredible educators, volunteers, and community partners cultivating the next generation of environmental stewards and community leaders!

🌻 Let’s keep growing Arizona together!

🎓💜 PRESIDENT’S LIST AGAIN! 💜🎓

3.92 GPA | Grand Canyon University

Life has fought me.
Some battles left bruises nobody saw.
Some prayers were whispered through tears.
Some mornings, getting out of bed
was a victory all its own.

But God kept saying,
“Keep going.”

I used to wonder when goodness and mercy
would finally catch up with me.

Then I looked around.

I have breath in my lungs.
Two legs that carry me.
Two arms that still reach.
Clean water to drink.
A mind that can still learn.
A heart that can still believe.

There was a time
when even clean water wasn’t guaranteed,
when dirty bathwater
was all I had.

So how could I say
goodness and mercy haven’t found me?

They were there in every breath.
In every lesson.
In every sunrise I lived to see.
In every opportunity
to begin again.

Not every blessing arrives
wrapped in ribbons.
Not every answered prayer
looks like a miracle to someone else.

Sometimes mercy is a glass of clean water.
Sometimes goodness is another morning.
Sometimes grace is the strength
to finish one more assignment
when life has given you every reason to quit.

And today?

Another President’s List recognition.
A 3.92 GPA.

Not because my life has been easy.
Not because every problem has disappeared.

But because God has sustained me
through chapters I never thought I’d finish.

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.” Psalm 23:6 KJV

I haven’t been waiting for goodness and mercy to arrive.

I’ve been learning to recognize
that they’ve been walking with me all along.

Still breathing.
Still learning.
Still trusting.
Still going.

Thank You, Father.
I see Your goodness.
I recognize Your mercy.
And I’m not finished yet. 💜
