Besides staying wit my grandparents my family was the only connection I had wit the culture growin up. Now that I’m older I’m understanding that it’s our responsibility to learn nd embrace a culture we had such limited knowledge of. I’ve always noticed the divide between us especially being a bay baby cause we fa sho do it a lil different. Never really felt like there was a place or representation for us til I started rockin wit the @paremovement whether u up on game or not this shit a perfect example of what Filipino American History Month mean to me. Same same but different but still puttin on for the people s/o to all my pares let’s keep this shit pushin 🦍🇵🇭🦍🇵🇭 #paremovement #filipinoamericanhistorymonth #24kstateofmind

It all started with a text from @therefugeebaby letting me know that @whitelotusevents_ was going to honor me with “Director of the Decade.” Leading up to the day, I fought with looping thoughts of denial. Wondering if I was worthy of an award like this yet. But a conversation with @xjavlin helped remind me of the impact I’ve been able to make within our Asian American community & culture. It wasn’t until a few days before the event that I finally started to realize: yea, this is an important moment to celebrate. Not just because of the award, but because it came from my peers. And they're all going to be there. From the bottle service section, VIP goodies, food and access, the great music from @theupliftersllc, seeing @inkkmannofficial in action hosting, to being surrounded by so many of my past clients. That last part meant the most. It honestly felt like a reunion haha. Seeing everyone again, celebrating each other, and realizing how many people I’ve crossed paths with throughout this journey made the whole night feel bigger than just an award. What an amazing experience. Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their music and continues to build alongside me.

PSA: SOLIDARITY WORKS BOTH WAYS. 💯 I wasn't challenging a stance on data disaggression. So let's draw a HARD line in the sand with this post. ⤵️ ASIAN ⬜️ PACIFIC ISLANDER ⬜️ FILIPINO ✅️🖊 Hey whatwouldkritdo please look up the definition of IDENTITARIAN  MYOPIA. 👀🔬🩺 I know the modern definition of Pacific Islander. ALSO 𝙂𝙊 𝙇𝙊𝙊𝙆 𝙐𝙋 𝘿𝙀𝙓𝙏𝙀𝙍 𝘾𝙊𝙉𝘿𝙀𝙕 while you're at it.🕊 A good question you should have raised on @islandfeverpodcast  "Do you have to be Pacific Islander to experience erasure----especially islands being turned to a commercial resort?" 🤔 Answer is also a resounding: "YEAH, NO" "Are Filipinos..." 🛑🤚 𝙉𝙊𝙏 𝘼 𝙈𝙊𝙉𝙊𝙇𝙄𝙏𝙃 𝙔𝙊𝙐 𝘾𝘼𝙉 𝙎𝙄𝙈𝙋𝙇𝙔 𝙇𝘼𝘽𝙀𝙇.🇵🇭✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿🇵🇭 Asian side of the Wallace line, yeah 🦣🌊🦘 7,000+ islands also formed in the LITERAL Pacific ocean by volcanos too🌋----IN THE SAME MOANA. Austronesians 🇹🇼arrived 4,000 years ago----prior it was Papua's estranged sister archipelago w/ hella melanin too. 🌊❄️ 🤎🖤 Foundational resources of Pasifka culture such as chicken, pigs, taro, seafaring, hand tap tattoo, & all that jazz that's core to Moana... The Phillipines is like Soulja Boy-IT DID IT FIRST.💯🫳🎤 So Kristian Fanene Manuwai of Island Fever replying to me that he "didn't give a s**t" about what I was talking about----about the erasure of the Filipino diaspora & negrito experience is exactly how identitarian myopia works. It proves my point that the erasure @bretmanrock mentioned----works both ways. By reductionist logic, forcing Filipinos into a flat category, even "asian",  aligns them with the same hegemony Pasifka protest, completely masking the distinct colorism, labor exploitation, & socio-economic struggles Filipinos faced in history & continue to face on a case-by-case level . Dismissing this reality is pure cultural amnesia—using artificial, Western-imposed borders to police indigenous connections, ancient seafaring history, & shared Austronesian roots. If your brand of "AAPI solidarity" demands the erasure of Pasifka--ISEA nuances, you aren't fighting colonization—you are just implicitly recycling it. #Filipino #AAPI #Pasifika #mata #GETYOUREYESCHECKED Photo shared by Kieron Palani on June 27, 2026 tagging @dfatuesi, @pasifikarootedtherapy, and @islandfeverpodcast. May be a selfie of one or more people and text that says 'whatwouldkritdo mentioned you in a comment: @kieronpalani don't give a shit what you're talking about, telling you it's not erasure if you were never a Pacific Islander to begin with. 3h in inihe 2ซ inihename ame ofAAPI Reply'.

We used AI to imagine what these California Asian rappers would look like if they pretended to suit up for the San Francisco 49ers and pulled a Daejon Love. For those who missed it, Daejon Love was recently accused of posing as a 49ers player and allegedly defrauding at least 26 women, along with small businesses and restaurants, in a scheme prosecutors say involved roughly $1.3 million. Which one of these rappers actually looks like they could make an NFL roster⁉️😭 Via : @Empire
