Sitting in the Dubai airport during my 17 hour layover on my way to Kyrgyzstan looking for something to do, my phone pops up with some memories of the ski season that I got back from not so long ago… What a pleasure to be reminded of the unbridled joy that ensued. Especially as I sit with pit in my tummy after receiving the news that my Kyrgyz e-visa application has been denied for the second time 🥲 I’m going for it anyway hoping that I get a visa on arrival with my South African passport 🐍 and my emergency American passport as back up since I was not able to renew the golden ticket in time…
As you can imagine I’m feeling some type of way, but getting a reminder of adventures passed eases the anxiety and uncertainty of the next step…
Here are a few random moments captured in the chaos that make my heart smile ☺️
Even though these photos make me miss my locks like hell, they also remind me of what a special time I had with such special humans!
I really felt a sense of family with the wild and wonderful souls I shared this adventure with…

Tomorrow is my birthday and today I got to have brunch with my second born, my amazing daughter in law and my oh so beautiful and snuggly little pea 🫛 (grandparent fail for no pics taken today 🤦‍♀️) And we had a great laugh talking about Gramps thumb stump and how one push of that in your clavicle and you did whatever he told you to! 🤣 Which made me think about how much I miss my Dad and what I would give to have him here to celebrate with me and meet Nora 💗 “Happy Birthday Mugwumps” - I can hear you from heaven Daddy… love you always 🥰
