POV: someone lost their mic🎤😭

We’ve kicked off Summit 02 with the first game, and things are moving!

I get a callout from Grayson that he needs to speak with Scotty backstage ASAP, so I track him down and let him know.

Then I hear one of the player mic’s has fallen, so the search begins😅 Off-camera, I find it on the ground and wait for confirmation on who it belongs to. Once the team confirms they can still hear Simon, we know it needs to go back on Collin!

I make my way over to his corner, let him know I need to mic him back up, quickly jump in to get it secured, and confirm with the team once his audio is back.

POV: A bit of clarification can put your team in the best shape!

We’ve just finished the outro for Game 1 of Summit 02, and while Scotty’s hosting the live, I’m told to remind him to shout out our sponsor before wrapping up his spiel.

After we cut, Scotty comes over to clarify that the sponsor only asked for a shoutout during the intros—which is important, because every minute counts on the live. Adding another shoutout to an already-lengthy outro could eventually put us behind schedule!

I assure him we’ll get it right on the next one, and we keep it moving.

Communication like this can save valuable time and keep the entire production operating smoothly!

Soon after, I run into Gabe, and once he realizes I’m recording, we start poking fun at Scotty for his incredibly detailed (and lengthy) outros—sorry to the guys in the background who may have thought we were being serious😅

All together, one family.
Today I was reminded on how our pets are more than just a companion animal. They’re family.

My heart goes out to those who are missing family today. ❤️‍🩹

A beautiful August wedding for the books 🥂

Joined Meredith as we welcomed her new Daughter-in-law, Brooklyn into the family. Grayson was beaming with love as he watched Brooklyn walk down the aisle at @theoldstonechapel — so sweet.

It is such an honor to be able to create watercolor pieces from their union and begin their art collection.

At the reception it was all about friends and family with guest illustrations. There were laughs, smiles and even humor as I posed a unique question, “What’s your favorite color?”

You see I had a fun challenge, everyone was wearing black. So my artist mind was to add a pop of color but to make it extra special the guest got to choose.

A fun night of discovering everyone’s favorites and finishing the night with the couple portrait.

Hugs to everyone who made the day go so great!

POV: Right when we went live😭

Prepping outros for a live stream isn’t the hardest part—it’s everything around it that has to happen flawlessly…or we end up with hiccups like this😬

Once everything’s ready to go, I check with Grayson and Murph to confirm I can begin the countdown…and get crickets. They were likely working through something behind the scenes, so once I hear back from Grayson, we’re ready to start!

The one issue…the moment we go live again, the DJ booth experiences some major audio feedback from their speakers, which prompts a pretty immediate verbal reaction from me😅

Shit happens! Luckily, D’Vontay was speaking into the wireless mic, so the feedback didn’t cause too much trouble and we were able to keep things moving.
