Last week, the short film I made with @serafimovaserafima, @katefrancesm and @matthewharmer (thanks to @niceandserious's Nice Works initiative) was screened at the iconic @ritzy_cinema as part of their short film showcase series, The Brixton Reel. To see my own words on a big screen was a dream come true to say the very least. Our film, Old Women, will be available to watch online in the coming weeks. In the meantime, I'm savouring the fact that I got to enjoy this unforgettable moment, with these amazing people, in this incredibly special place 🥹

THIS FRIDAY If thou dost rain, for forty days it will remain. If thou be fair, for forty days ‘twill rain nae more 🌧️☔️🌧️☔️🌧️ Come get wet this July and celebrate St. Swithin’s Day with a night of revelry and a healthy disregard for the forecast. As Europe experiences another summer of heatwaves, floods and extreme weather, and as many in our communities continue to face rising inequality and violence, we’ll be raising money for organisations supporting people on the front line. We can’t stop the rain, but no matter the weather we will still dance together. All profits from the evening will go to: 999 Club – A Deptford-based charity supporting people facing homelessness and poverty across Southeast London. Sistah Space – Specialist charity that supports African & Caribbean heritage women affected by domestic and sexual abuse, at a time when support services are needed more than ever. Expect a downpour of playful, high-energy sounds from London-based selectors spanning house, disco, garage, UK Funky, dubstep, techno and beyond. Pajero // WAAW // RAT RACING // ZAK SMIFF // LANI <3NCHANTED & special guest Genesis ✨ Come dressed for whatever the forecast throws at you. £5 // £7 // £10 _________________ 📅 Friday 17th July

good things come in pairs, and this week is proof: two birthdays, two nights in one crypt, and two curators for this newsletter. @holharland is on board for this issue, which means double the picks, double the opinions, and exactly one instruction for this week: don’t go alone. ✺ = picked by @holharland save this, send this, print it out, but go ;) 📷: @luminousmushroom at emo vs dubstep @vespersclub

Over the past six years, we’ve been developing an organic rebrand of Piccolo Bacco dei Quaroni —a winery, restaurant and farmhouse— that reflects the transition to the new generation. The process began with a new system of wine labels, defined by bright colours and bold circular graphics inspired by the character of each wine. These elements became part of the visual identity, creating a clear and recognisable language across all brand materials—from labels and business cards to roll-up banners and website. This ongoing work has shaped every aspect of our brand development, including the website featured in this post. @piccolobaccodeiquaroni Piccolo Bacco dei Quaroni - mobile homepage

We live in a world where it's become politically advantageous to invent more problems than to solve existing ones. This deeply paradoxical reality has been weighing heavily on my mind for a very long time. So when I was asked to write something about 'hope' for @niceandserious it activated a whole tangled web of ideas that I eventually moulded into this think-piece. This article took me months to write but, in truth, it's been years in the making. It also wouldn't exist without the ideas, insights and thought-starters from: @shafakelif @afuahirsch @pewresearch @kyle.t.webster @nifmuhammad @joelycett With thanks to @ge0rgiachambers for the perfect artwork and @timmysprague for commissioning and editing.
