HYROX Rotterdam!!

Why HYROX?

I’ve followed HYROX for 4 years since my UK days, watching athletes like @jade.skillen and thinking maybe someday. As a marathoner with a strong strength base, it always felt like a natural fit.

When HYROX launched in India, it never aligned with my marathon cycles. But after the New Delhi Marathon, I finally had an off-season window to try something new.

And what a place to debut — HYROX Rotterdam by HYROX Benelux, the biggest event in Europe. Global athletes. Immaculate organisation. Standards set HIGH.

I didn’t train specifically for this. I kept my run training on , sharp with some great workouts. I also attended a few semi simulations that helped me understand the format. I couldn't do a 100 percent race simulation.

For an international SOLO debut, I chose to take it easy — to test what I already had and see how far it would take me. I wanted to enjoy the experience.

It showed me my strengths, exposed my weaknesses, and most importantly — showed me exactly where to go next.

And I’m told it was a great SOLO debut…
No noise. Just execution. And Zero penalties!
A quiet 1:47 hr finish !!

Onwards and upwards!

The most asked question last few days wrt TMM context and runner circuit was about my pacing experience and if I am pacing at @tatamummarathon this time. Feel happy and grateful at the same time - Speak about the impact of a job well done at a prestigious forum.
I was the official 2:10 HM pacer at TMM 2025. The impact was not just that I paced a successful bus, it was the connection I built with my runners over 3 weeks before the event sharing all insights running, so they arrived assured. And the bond most of them still share with me.

If there’s one thing Mumbai taught me was this:
pacing here is a lot about people than just pace.

Your runners will arrive nervous, hopeful, overtrained, underconfident, and everything in between.
Before they trust your watch, they will trust your presence.

To all my friends Pacing for TMM tomorrow,

I just want to share this—
As a pacer, it's OKAY if you are nervous. Even a pacer can be nervous.
Given It is a huge responsibility.
Stay calm.
Stay steady.
Use the energy and Vibes of Mumbai.
Talk to your runners. Reassure them.
Remind them to hydrate early.
Run wise.
Lead well.
Trust yourself. 🏁

Have a memorable pacing experience.

@tatamumbaimarathon Race pics.
80 percent cardio and 20 percent survival instinct kicking in.. :)

How racing with an unexpected chest congestion looked like. Adapting and aiming the finish line must be a skill that training and races teach you over a period of time. Plus what an event like TMM can do- the energy and vibes pulls you through in spite of the struggle. Grateful for a good day.

Berlin Marathon '25
10th Marathon 4th World Major ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Berlin Marathon day — it turned out to be a reflection of dealing with change and trusting myself through uncertainty.

Race day Berlin had its own mind —23°C start climbing to 26°C, testing every runner out there. Brutal day may be for a marathon. The race I had prepared for turned into one where patience, and presence mattered more than pace..

I adjusted and stayed steady even in the first half unlike my usual racing self. That helped, staying mostly conservative, and strong. Crossed the finish at 4:09:31- still some energy left in the tank. It didn't feel like a day to execute a goal I trained for, but happy to have finished a marathon strong through a sauna- an experience to count 😄
And yes… I got a bit of extra joy, got my medal signed by the Champion himself, Sebastian Sawe @sabastiansawe 🙌🥇 !

It was an exciting training block, Coach @vira75, Thank you for the trust and the learning and the workouts!

Many thanks to Coach @somyarout2806 sir, @bijoy_joseph_bastian , @sairam_sports_physio @stairs.physio team for keeping me strong to go through the training cycle and race day demands.

@sreyatheexplorer - missed you. Thanks for being a sweet heart and managing your exam time alone.

All my running friends - the exciting part of the marathon is the training and time spent together- being a big part of the journey one way or another.Thank You!

Thank you @pumaindia @fastandup_india for being an inevitable part of the journey.

Congratulations @vijayakumarsreejith on your 3rd Marathon and world major and @alka.roy on your first world major.
