Join us in celebrating some truly remarkable young people: congratulations to our graduating Puppy Raisers! 🎓

Our community wouldn’t be what it is today without the dedication of high school and college students who balance their studies while selflessly raising puppies that go on to provide greater independence for people with vision loss! Their impact is life-changing 🦮

To the Class of 2026: we’re so proud of you and can’t wait to see all that you accomplish next. 💛

Okay team, this mission actually took place a few weeks ago — but as weve already covered, Mom’s been running a little behind on posting, so we’re doing a spring debrief.

Objective: secure a Bruster's puppy cup.
Status: accomplished with extreme enthusiasm and absolutely zero regrets.

Hickory joined me in the field and ran his own ice cream op like a seasoned professional. Elite bestie performance.

Morale was high. Cups were empty. Mission success all around.

More backlogged adventures incoming… I’ve been busy living life at full tail‑wag.

"And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!"

The Scooby gang is on the case! And the boys earned extra Scooby Snacks for putting up with their mom’s mystery-loving mischief.

🎃 Happy Halloween!! 🎃

🎉 Today’s my BIRTHDAY! I’m officially ONE! 🎉

I’ve spent the past year growing, learning, and training hard to become a future guide dog—and living the best puppy life along the way. I’ve tackled everything from elevators to busy sidewalks to quiet settle times.

I got to celebrate early in VEGAS this weekend with my ride-or-die, Ivanhoe. We trained like pros, strutted through the casino like we owned the place, and made sure to sneak in plenty of playtime too. Because every hardworking pup deserves a little fun on his birthday!

Now it’s back to training, treats, and making my Mama proud. Here’s to another year of paws-on progress! 🐾✨

Extra special shout out and thank you to Aunt Alexis for making Ivan and me the most delicious cake!! 🎂

Ain’t nobody gonna break our stride 🎶 Just two good boys on a mission—me and my bestie Ivan casually strolling through a casino like it’s no big deal (but it totally is). Heads high, tails waggin’, and not a single step outta place. We were born for this.

Future guide dog goals unlocked.

Yesterday was PAW-some!

1. Had another walk and talk and totally crushed it. Mom says I’m basically perfect (she might be a little biased, but I’ll take it). No issues in the harness—none, zero, zilch. I even made sure she knew I love wearing it. Style and function? Yes, please.

2. Then we hit up an interest meeting at VCU. So many nice humans! If you wanna get involved with the cool stuff I do, check out their Insta @gebatvcu —good humans always welcome!

3. Wrapped up the day with my bestie. We ran. Then ran some more. Then collapsed… then RAN AGAIN. Life’s good when your zoomies are strong.

10/10 day. Would do again.

Best Friends head to the Theater.

Doyle and @geb.ivanhoe were the best boys while their mama's enjoyed @moulinrougebway . The @altriatheaterva was amazing with accommodating us and the needs of the pups. And we even got to meet some of the cast and crew after the performance! It was an amazing show, the boys got great training/exposure, and overall, it was the best night with one of my favorite people in the world!

Our region had a fun Halloween themed class and our pups and raisers showed up in great costumes! The dogs did a great job reverse trick or treating at @shortpumpmall.

Want to join us next year? Ask us about how you can volunteer with our region! We need your help!

#guidingeyesfortheblind #rvadogsofinstagram #vcudogs #halloweendogcostume #puppyraiser #volunteer Raiser Katlyn and Yellow lab puppy, Doyle, are wearing matching Minion costumes. Both have silver goggles over their eyes and overalls. Katlyn has a yellow shirt. Doyle is sitting in Katlyn's lap and both are looking at the camera.
