Final meeting with the Core Team for Saddleback Men! These are the men who said yes last summer to serving together to launch a men’s effort for @saddlebackchurch and @saddlebacklf. These men have shown up, served, sacrificed, prayed, fasted, and ran towards a vision of men saying yes to Jesus and His purposes for their lives. I’m so grateful that the Lord allowed us to run together in this season. I am better because of these men!
.
I believe the best is still ahead for Saddleback Men and I will be cheering you on from the East Coast! Don’t lose heart or grow weary… fix your eyes on Jesus and run the race marked out before you! #saddlebackmen

There’s a whole lot that goes on behind the scenes on production days. A lot doesn’t see the light of day because there’s so much happening. So fast.

And then sometimes, someone takes the time to capture the moments. Whether it’s captured by others or not, just make sure that you acknowledge yourself first.

Your own art.
Your own magic.
Your own pure light & complexity.
Your own hard work.

This is your reminder to pause at some point today and appreciate YOU. That’s the realest compliment you need to accept.

Thanks @geckoluke for these 📸

Hey-O! Stories of the Bible is officially published 🎉 9 years ago we started making Bible cartoons for our kids at Saddleback. We saw how our kids responded to it so we just kept going, and kept making a new one every single weekend. We had no idea then that God would take those literally all around the world to tell the story of the Bible to kids. Then a couple years ago we had this dream to make a kids Bible to go along with the videos. It felt pretty far fetched but the door was opened to Zondervan and we began working on this project! Almost 2 years later, I know without a doubt that every moment, late night, early morning, and third, fourth and fifth pass on the art or text was 100% worth it.

There are so many people who had their hand in this from our team and Zondervan to the SK team to some of our pastors who helped us check all of this to all the people along the way who recorded a “heyo!” to our leaders who have supported this through the years. If you are one of those people, THANK YOU!

A special shout out to the incredible illustrator! Drew - thank you for the countless hours you’ve invested in this art. Illustrating 364 full pages is no joke. You are an absolute champ. And another shout out to the animator of all this. Luke you brought these characters to life and your intention and humor is a huge part of what makes this so special. We literally wouldn’t have Hey-O without you two. You have spent countless hours working behind a screen to the glory of God. I thank the Lord that he brought us all together for this special season.

My prayer is that the kids just love this. That they would want to open it every day and read every story. And that they would get to know how awesome God is through the stories of the Bible.

This week we talked about pizza, rowing machines, and values. Also integrity. It’s tough to pass on what we don’t practice. Do we say to follow the rules while we drive faster than the speed limit? Do we say to be honest while we tell little lies here and there? It’s not easy working on integrity, but it’s worth it. Read some proverbs this week, see what hits.
