It was such a joy to be invited to collaborate with our friends at the Kelvin Club for this beautiful wedding editorial, celebrating one of Melbourne’s most character-filled venues.

I’ve been lucky enough to spend many memorable evenings there over the years, birthday celebrations, glamorous balls, lively dance nights and quiet evenings sharing a glass of wine with dear friends. Every visit reminds me why I love it so much.

There is something wonderfully comforting about the Kelvin Club. It feels a little like stepping into an old country house hidden in the middle of Melbourne. I love sinking into one of the Chesterfields for a long conversation, while somewhere nearby the dance floor is alive with celebration. So many venues can feel loud and overwhelming, but the Club has these beautiful intimate corners that invite connection as much as celebration.

The warmth of the people is what makes it truly special. Seeing lifelong friends like @MissPearls and the incredibly talented @TyHenschke involved in bringing this vision together reminded me how fortunate we are to be surrounded by such creative, generous people.

As a designer, I always hope my gowns become part of places with history, character and heart. The Kelvin Club offers all three, making it a truly special setting for couples wanting a wedding that feels timeless, elegant and unmistakably Melbourne.

1997 Vanessa would be proud of these finger waves.

That’s the year I started hairdressing. I remember learning finger waves and thinking, when will I ever use this again? Almost 30 years later, here we are.

What’s something younger you would be proud of? Don’t be shy 🙈 Hair by me using @davines_australia @kingcocreative makeup @heidiscarlettkingmakeup @chereine_waddell
