Broken bones but hopelessly in love. I mean, how could you not be?

We live in cycles, we live in phases. Everywhere there are gifts, small miracles, moments of pausing, of appreciation, of gratitude. Life is beautiful (if you want to see it that way), and life is hard (if you want to see it that way).
Nature does not care about any of this. It just is. The earth turns. The sun is slowly burning itself out. The moon moves the oceans, and all this and more leads to spectacles that our sensory and cognitive layers just judge however they are capable of judging. Why it is all like this, nobody knows anyway.
So why not just be hopelessly in love with life?

A few months into our first release, and we’ve managed to make movements to preserve our creative critter the Red Shanked Douc of Vietnam!

What’s a label to do without a little gathering, surely we can’t produce in our studios much longer ~ so we brought together few of the releases most kindred spirits to celebrate psychetronics sounds of @shankeddoucrecords !

As summer slowly departs, I believed passion was running dry.

I remembered a time asking a fellow creator how he managed to organize multiple jazz festival on multiple mountains on a tiny island, you must have so much passion?! He said no, passion will only get you so far, then you need intelligent design, systems, and frameworks.

Driving alone up the mountain in search of the Red Shanked Douc, I realized the passion already ignited and burnt long ago, it drove me to establish an absurd amount of projects. Believing even 5 years ago that a record label around an endangered monkey was something that had to happen, and here we were playing the music we curated to people all over the world. @shankeddoucrecords was born, and much like the Shanked Douc itself we were living quietly in the trees, until anterior forces start to uproot our way of life.

However odd to us that things are changing as they do; an artist, a passionate driven “outside the box” thinker will always adapt, always grow and evolve into new forms, directions and pathways.

All in search of creating our version of paradise.

When I remind myself, where I was 10 years ago, a wandering soul- in search of a home, and hoping to Buddha, Allah, God, or Shiva that there was a more virtuous, creative and alternative way to live than what had been presented by the countries I lived and left before.

I had to look at myself, my past and current desires, and consider to suspend everything to see where a rest stop in Hanoi could take me.

Only by referencing my mental state a decade before could I recognize how far things have come into the direction that was designed. @airtime.asia collected the spirit of young, thrifty dreamers doing their best in the scenes they exists within. Some are more blessed than others, and some deal with extreme limitations, yet it hasn’t stopped anyone from sharing their sounds and experiences.

this is extremely exciting: I am HOSTING a WORKSHOP in HANOI 🤭💃🏼🥰🥰🙏

the place where my creativity and hosting journey kind of started! Now I am visiting this city that still holds my heart and I am super excited to collab with @geistcreate to host this fun evening.

we will talk about the creative flow, the creative practise that we all so deeply need, we ll do playful art exercises to get out of our heads, to quiet the inner critic and then we will create in a flow state together.

@shankeddoucrecords premieres our charity compilation dedicated to the preservation of the infamous Red Shanked Douc creature of Vietnam, and the quality bouncey sounds of house, prog, downtempo, dub, bass, ambient and techno of producers in the region of Asia Pacific.

All tracks crafted with love - and developed for Asian dance floors. From creators living , from/based or toured in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand of which the Douc inhabits.
Developed for the psychedelic jungle utopia put forth by @outlandish.vn in our hearts, minds and third eye. Body music with a dash of heady experimentalism by Asia Pacific’s movers.

Shanked Douc emits psych sounds with a purpose - encouraging fresh producers to create with a cause - release their inner workings while supporting the conservation of the Shanked Douc family of Monkeys of which there are less than 2000 left - while simultaneously morphing club culture creators to focus on their studio projects - while Vietnam changes heavily towards party culture - and developing ever expanding cities.

Appreciate every well wish this year and can’t wait to celebrate becoming one year older with a few long haired friends this Saturday @ mirage 🤘🏽

I never mind having a birthday on January 7th - it allows me to indulge my party demon on new year and hone my life direction comfortably the week after — and it’s been a pleasure to focus inward this last week.
Living your dream never really feels exciting amidst the moment as you’re so busy but reflection is vital and isolation at times as well!

Creative work doesn’t offer any promotions , just incredibly rewarding personal milestones that make no sense to any logical human , but to us late night weirdos it means the world.

This was my very first workshop focused on the basics of electronic dance music.
It felt very emotional to speak and share without playing music behind the decks — but it turned out beautifully.

Thank you so much for your questions, openness, and feedback. I’m truly happy to share my vision and create a safe, curious space for learning together.

My classes are open to anyone who wants to understand electronic music deeper — step by step, with care and intention.
