This weekend saw a disgusting level of ableism and ignorance when the amazing @luuudaw and @maysoonzayid dared to speak about being disabled and how it impacts our lives. The misogynistic bs that hit Lucy in particular made my stomach turn. She created #DisabledAndSexy which changed everything for me. So this is 1 a thank you to you Lucy and 2 a campaign to shout from the rooftops that we are a truly impressive and amazing community!

Being #disabled and sexy are not top mutually exclusive terms and it inspired me to create #DisabledAnd - a new campaign we are launching today to show show world who we really are!!
.
We are writers, we are lawyers, we are doctors and we are definitely not what society taught us! So please join the campaign!
.
Its very simple- All you have to do is take a photo of you with your sign showing that you are #DisabledAnd - and include any passions or characteristics or job you like to show the world that disabled people do not exist as one homogenous blob.
.
We are powerful people and it is time ableds knew it! You can do this through insta or twitter - make sure you tag us and let's fight the ableism and ignorance that society is showing!!

My clip from our larger @ableismandme video. I #ChooseToChallenge the idea that #disability is a constant state. I, like many others have #ChronicIllnesses and #disabilities that fluctuate. Sometimes I use my stick and other days I don’t. We are not faking it - this is one of the many realities of being #Disabled abled people seem to unwilling to listen to. I hope this helps others who are battling invisible conditions, are ambulatory wheelchair users and every disabled person who is tired of explaining what being disabled actually means ❤️

• Makers - specifically sewers/tailors
• Web developers
• Accessibility experts

No need to worry about length of experience, I’m interested in raw talent as well as established.

There will be no laborious interview process at this stage, just a chat or catch up in whichever way works best to talk about some of the exciting ideas I have in the pipeline next year to showcase & elevate disabled talent.
