A beautiful day created especially for expecting moms 🩷 There’s so much to think about before your little one arrives, and while there’s plenty to prepare for, child passenger safety is an important part of the journey too. We loved being part of an incredible panel of women, all sharing their knowledge and expertise to help moms-to-be feel more informed and supported. Together with Nicole from @beyondtheirdreams, Jess from @gembreastpump and Tasha from @wmc_clinic, it was a day filled with meaningful conversations, helpful advice and lots of support. As the Car Seat Safety Experts, we chatted about keeping little ones rearward-facing for as long as possible in their early years, and how their car seat safety needs change as they grow into the booster years. Tuesdays with Tasha and colleagues; Are you using the right flange size? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One of the most important parts of finding the right breast pump is getting your flange size right. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Your nipple size is personal to you and it can change during your breastfeeding journey. The flange that comes with your pump isn’t necessarily the right size for everyone. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨ The right fit can help with:
• Better milk flow
• More comfortable pumping
• More effective milk removal
• Less nipple rubbing and swelling
• A more comfortable pumping experience overall ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How do you know if your flange is the right size? Your nipple should move freely through the tunnel without rubbing against the sides, while only a small amount of areola is drawn in. If your nipple is rubbing, swelling, becoming sore or turning white — your flange may be too small or the fit may need adjusting. And if lots of your areola is being pulled into the tunnel, the flange may be too large. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💡 Tip: Measure your nipple before pumping and remember that your size can change over time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Finding the right fit can make such a difference, pumping shouldn’t be painful. 🤍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not sure what size you need?
