We had another awesome year being invited to Genentech’s bring your kid to work day! It’s always so much fun to see the kids get excited to learn about robots and fulfills us to see them enjoying the stem field. We also get to take group pictures with the RoboVikes, woohoo!

Yesterday was pretty amazing. I had the opportunity to share my #breastcancer story in hopes that through that education it will encourage others to want to dive beneath of surface of this deadly disease. I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with the lovely @giulianarancic, a woman all too familiar with the rollercoaster ride of breast cancer and its treatments and surgeries. I commend her for standing behind this message. Breast cancer is so much more than pink ribbons and October. It's not one disease. It's not one size fits all. Women I know and love and women I don't know but admire have been taken all too soon because of this enigma. Stand up. Educate yourself. Do something for me, for women like me. For women like you that could one day face what is now my reality.

I want people to know #breastcancer is not one disease. Understanding the many types of breast cancer is important – not just for the one in eight women who will be diagnosed in their lifetime, but for those who love them. RealiTEA isn't my fave cup of tea at times...😉😭😐 Getting ready for Gradbash is fun but not for CF'ers like me or anybody with health issues. I am having to make sure I have everything I need ahead of time. Since I wont be able to have my breathing treatment machine and VEST I will have to depend on only my albuterol and Aerobika. I am concerned that I will be missing my much needed inhalation meds at night to help prevent me from having coughing spasms and to prevent any lung infections. Some may think I am overreacting as i have been told but these are all facts that I have to consider and be aware of as being considered an adult now.
I will be needing to monitor my sugar, the amount of water I intake to prevent dehydration, what I eat as I cant have much carbs and or gluten and food allergies. My main concern is about having an aniphlattic reaction. I am going to have to buy not the most healthiest food there while making sure nothing touches shellfish.
💛I am praying that I will be able to find someone to hang around with that is understanding and supportive if I need to take breaks, etc because I will most definitely need to have breaks. 😊I am sharing this in hopes that others will be aware and understanding what goes into just having a typical fun day out event as a teenager! #punsgalore #teenmodel #senioryear #cysticfibrosiswarrior #gradbash #praying #godisgood #cfirl
