Every year I settle into myself a little more and it’s powerful. Cheers to the women guiding us into older age. My mother’s work is available at the link in my bio!

Breakfast @generalbham with Michelle of @soanebritain … because every good antique adventure should begin with coffee, Southern charm, and a little waiting for the treasures to unlock. 🥐☕️🪑✨

Friday Favorites ✨

I don’t feel like I’ve caught up from being out of town last weekend yet…and I’m heading out of town again on Sunday! While I love exploring new places, I’ve found myself being much more of a homebody these days! After next week, I’ll be home for the foreseeable future and happy about it!!

But here are some things I’m loving lately:

I’ll be sharing lots more about my trip to the Magic City {aka Birmingham} and other spots around Alabama soon but I’m definitely still thinking about the gorgeous @shoppebham with it’s lush plants 🌱and pumpkins and the cozy little @generalbham cafe next door! 🧡

Speaking of pumpkins- I finally added a few to my porch yesterday and added a little bat to my mums! I’m trying to keep it more simple this year but we’ll see as I always collect pumpkins throughout the month!

Yesterday- I treated myself to these mini @reeses pumpkins while listening to an audiobook in the car line! It’s the little things that can make your day! I’m listening to Love You More by @emilygiffinauthor and loving it so far!! It’s giving Sweet Home Alabama vibes with a midwestern flair! Add it to your list if you’re looking for a book you won’t want to put down {or stop listening to in my case!}

We have Friday Night Lights tonight and then I’ll be cheering on @clemsonfb tomorrow! 🏈

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! What are you up to?! Share any of your favorites with me in the comments below!

💌 P4 Local Love: @generalbham x @shoppebham

This week, we’re spotlighting General & Shoppe in Forest Park. From specialty coffee, brunch, and a curated general store at General to beautiful plants, garden finds, and home goods at Shoppe, these neighboring spots are full of things to discover.

We love finding the local businesses that make Birmingham such a special place to live, shop, and explore.

What Birmingham business should we spotlight next? 👇🏼

A place I would definitely go again in BIRMINGHAM.
Lunch escapes were something I looked forward to after living at Children’s in Birmingham for over 100 days recently. When baby was stable- we would go out and explore.

GENERAL
@generalbham 🍴

We stumbled across this adorable bistro & cafe when we ate at Juniper next door for brunch one weekend.

Sandwiches, pastries, wraps, sweets and cafe drinks in an adorable little gift shop!

We told my nurse where we were going for lunch and she mentioned they had the best croissants! 🥐
So naturally I bought her one along with this delicious 🍪 cookie and brought it back to her.

While you’re here check out the next door plant shop 🪴 and across the street vintage shop to complete your outing.

Have you been to General? Add it to your list ✍️ ✨

Ecstatic. Grateful. Moderately Terrified.

We’re doing Every Brilliant Thing! Which is both a sentence I’ve been dying to say and one that makes me want to lie down for a minute…

I’m so proud of this one, and so grateful to @concordshows for trusting us with this truly singular piece, and to @redmtntheatre for bringing it to life.

Directed by @roylightner with @highdive.bham , @goldenagewinegarden , @levitejcc , and @generalbham opening their doors to us.

Four weeks in four very different spaces. I hope you’ll come be part of it. xo, M

A third store, @firstimpressionsflowers, will soon be carrying my mother’s artwork. She is a shining example of “it’s never too late.” For those interested in purchasing online, her etsy store has also been restocked. The link to purchase is in my bio!
