I can’t believe it’s time to hang up the suit already- 13 years flew by so fast. I’d never be able to write down every single thing this sport has done for me, but it’s completely changed my outlook on life. It’s taught me the pain of failure and the glory of success; it’s taught me how much I love working hard and competing; and it’s allowed me to meet some of the most amazing people.

It sucks knowing that this is the end of such a huge chapter of my life. But because of this one, I know I’ll be ready for whatever comes next. To some, it might sound nice to not have to jump into a cold pool every morning. But for me, I’m gonna miss it. Maybe I’ll join a masters team or something- or become a coach! That’d be cool.

Thank you to every coach, every friend, every teammate, and every competitor I’ve had the pleasure of meeting along the way. But most importantly, thank you mom for signing me up for that first try out 13 years ago. You the goat.

Let me know when that 11/12 LCM 50 Freestyle Alaska State Record gets broken 🫡
