4 hills I’ll die on as an indie filmmaker making my first feature
1. Film school is a waste of time and money. You want to get into the film industry? Start working as a PA, figure out where you want to specialize, and move on from there. Experience is going to teach you SO much more than a classroom ever could.
2. Hollywood gatekeepers are entering “find out season,” and they can go fuck themselves. Art ALWAYS finds a way.
3. Putting people over profits ALWAYS shows up on camera. Treat people well, and you’ll make a better film.
4. If you’re a delusional, exploitative location manager named Brittany who lives in Los Angeles. People can tell when you are using them. Quit it.

The showcase features 10 short comedy films, all directed by women, celebrating their brilliant work and the exciting career paths ahead of them.
