Welcome GENET BACKMAN to Cobber Distance!!

Genet just finished up her season at the State Meet! She helped her 4x8 relay qualify for State by placing 2nd at the Section 7A championships. Genet ran PRs this season in the 200, 400, 800, 1600, and 3200!! She dropped 7 seconds off her 800m to run 2:33.

Hear from Genet:
Why did you choose Concordia? I liked the size of the campus.

What are you looking forward to about being a part of Cobber Distance? I’m excited to improve!

Genet will major in Criminal Justice and will run cross country as well as track.

I’m super grateful for all of the great opportunities I’ve had this track season, I would have never thought I would actually want to run an 800! This has been the best track season yet. I’m so thankful for being able to be apart of the 4x8 team and break the school record!! I’m also so thankful to have made it to state with my best friends! Thank you to all of the seniors you will be missed. Eighth grade season ✅

This season was definitely the most fun I’ve ever had in track! Getting to be a part of setting a new school record in the 4x8, qualifying for state, and setting a new school record in the 1600 made this season so much more than I could’ve ever asked for. I am so grateful for the support from family, friends, coaches, and teammates! Senior year 🔜🔜
