The Swatch × Audemars Piguet “Royal Pop” collaboration is probably the biggest watch surprise since the MoonSwatch.

Unlike what everyone expected, Swatch did not make a plastic Royal Oak wristwatch. Instead, they created a collection of eight colorful pocket/pendant watches that blend the design language of the Royal Oak with Swatch’s quirky 1980s POP watches.

Instead of a bracelet, each watch comes with a leather lanyard.

You immediately recognize the AP influence:

* Octagonal bezel
* Eight exposed hexagonal screws
* Petite Tapisserie-style dial texture
* Integrated Royal Oak proportions

But Swatch adds:

* Bioceramic construction
* Bold Pop Art colors
* Modular wearable format

The movement is actually interesting

This isn’t a quartz novelty piece.

The Royal Pop uses a new hand-wound version of Swatch’s SISTEM51 movement.

There are eight references, all named after the word “eight” in different languages.

Examples include:

* OCHO NEGRO
* HUIT BLANC
* OTTO ROSSO
* LÀN BA
* ORANJI HACHI
* BLAUE ACHT
* GREEN EIGHT
* OTG ROZ

🖤🤍💙🩵💚💛❤️🩷

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Help me welcome home…

The Might! The Grail of Grails! The Big Red! The Le Mans!

Call it what you want but we all can agree it’s on hot piece with a whole lot of history packed inside.

Welcome home to my grail Daytona 😍 So glad to have gotten the privilege to add such piece to my collection. Been on the hunt for this for some time now and having one of the last ones to leave the counter also has some special taste to it 😋

The honeymoon will be a little extended on this one 🙈 hope you guys enjoy 😉
