The design, titled “Man Must Chop,” explores the hustle culture of Lagos, highlighting both its legal and illegal sides. Each element represents a different aspect of survival and the lengths people go to in pursuit of money.

The CMS building represents Lagos as a major commercial hub, attracting people seeking business opportunities and financial success. The yellow danfo bus represents the city’s busy transportation system and the everyday movement of people trying to make ends meet. The traders carrying goods represent the hardworking individuals who depend on daily sales for survival. The overloaded bus and passengers reflect the pressure, chaos, and determination associated with life in Lagos. The guy with the charm on the neck represents a yahoo boy, the women represent prostitution and how far some people may go to make money in difficult circumstances.

Together, these elements portray a city driven by the need to survive, where people engage in both legitimate and illegitimate activities to secure their daily bread. Ultimately, “Man Must Chop” captures the realities, struggles, and contradictions of the Lagos hustle. #genevadesignchallenge @genezatraining @genezatraining
