POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

For this episode of Music Monday, I’m sharing something incredibly close to my heart
.
.
Robert Glasper’s score for The Photograph. I watched this movie with someone I love, and it instantly became one of my absolute favorites. With Venus in Scorpio right now, the energy is all about depth, intimacy, and raw connection—and that is exactly what this music breathes into a room.
Glasper created a masterclass in contemporary jazz that feels deeply sensual, effortless, and magnetic. Critics have compared its rich cultural impact to the iconic Mo’ Better Blues, but to me, it just feels like the ultimate late-night mood. It seamlessly blends elite instrumental jazz with intoxicating R&B features from Erykah Badu, H.E.R., and Lucky Daye. You don’t even need the film to feel the pull of these tracks; the album stands completely on its own as a gorgeous sonic love story.
What album holds a piece of your heart? Let me know below. 🖤👇

A year ago. I was catching a bus home with just the clothes I had in from Northampton county. I felt like that was the breaking point or the lowest I ever felt.. A year ago. I couldn't imagine my life as it is now. A year ago progress and loving myself looked different. Sometimes you gotta return to you. Venus in Scorpio is loading. As the universe really opens up for me. I pray that it does for all of you too. Whatever you do. Return to you 🪐 #astrology #tarot #transmasc #scorpioseason #venusinscorpio

As a kid. I loved the Isley brothers. Specifically Saturday hits from cleaning and feeling nostalgic. This weeks album is one of the gems.
.
.
.
.
The Isley brothers “ Harvest for the World “ is the 14th album the Isley Brotherez released. May 29th 1976, this album was the fastest selling album in history for them. They sold over 500k copies in 3 weeks. Shattering billboard records. This album was remastered in 01 added “summer breeze” to the bonus. I’m currently looking for the 01’ version. Holla at me ❤️❤️❤️#fyp #musicmonday #dayinmylife #fmradio

Music monday ep 14 :
NERD - Nothing
.
as a kid. I chased producers. This is the first album I really really LISTENED TO. This episode is the intro into who I am and what I collect. And why. As a oricer chaser and in the spectrum. Inrelaized I was hitting stems or seeing sounds with most of the music I enjoy. This particular album when it released. Mtv debuted the “hot and fun” video and I was intrigued. I purchased jr on Itunes. And played it non stoop along with “ seeing sounds “
.
.
.
Nothing is the fourth studio album by American rock band N.E.R.D., released on November 2, 2010 on Star Trak Entertainment and Interscope Records in the United States.
.
.
The impetus was partially based on more wholeheartedly embracing digital audio workstation programs such as Logic Studio Pro, while using new tools to invoke a spirit of emotionally responsive late-‘60s/early-‘70s psychedelic pop with the final product.

Music Monday episode 12 :
James Ambrose Johnson Jr. (February 1, 1948 – August 6, 2004), better known by his stage name Rick James, was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer.
.
.
.
.
Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Rick James began his musical career in his teenage years. He was in various bands before entering the U.S. Naval Reserve to avoid being drafted into the Army. In 1964, James moved to Toronto, Canada, where he formed the rock band The Mynah Birds, who eventually signed a recording deal with Motown Records in 1966. James’s career with the group halted after military authorities discovered his whereabouts and eventually convicted him of desertion related charges. He served several months in jail.

After being released, James moved back to Toronto to pull together a new version of the Mynah Birds, with whom he returned to Motown to record. When that lineup folded, he moved to California, where he took over an existing group of Toronto ex-pats, Merryweather, added a new bassist and changed the group’s name to Salt and Pepper. After a strong start and some recording for the Atlantic label, the group split and Rick and the group’s keyboardist returned to Toronto to form Heaven and Earth with local players. They later merged with a local horn group, Milestone, and continued under a new name, Great White Cane. That group went to Los Angeles, signed to MGM Records’ Lion subsidiary. Their ensuing LP, released in 1972, was a minor rhythm and blues masterpiece but disappeared almost immediately.
.
.
.
#rickjames was a legend with human struggles and a charismatic personality. We lost this talent soul at 56 after battles with addiction and health.
.
.
Uncle Barry thank you for giving me a reason to create. Heal and feel during one of the most difficult times I’ve endured. Learning rick came home from jail and turned it up. Authentically. Just reminded me that the most talented souls have the most unique storylines. Setbacks are inevitable. Misery is a choice.
.
.
Imma pour a drink for you today . My ancestor ❤️ rest well.
Xoxo
