Before I fell in love with watches, my first true passion was CINEMA. 🎬 As a kid, from the moment I opened my eyes until I shut them, I was glued to the TV. Growing up in the ’80s, I go way back to the days of renting Betamax tapes, then VHS, LaserDiscs, DVDs, and eventually making the switch to VOD nowadays. Weekends? I could easily watch three movies at the cinema. I even had a projector in my bedroom with a 100-inch screen because, obviously, watching movies on a regular TV just wouldn’t cut it. 😂 I’m such a movie buff that I can name an actor or director just from the movie title. And yes, I once watched 24 in 24 actual, straight hours. Don’t judge me. 🤣 Anyway, back to watches and why I’m telling you all this… I’ve got countless movie scenes and lines permanently engraved in my brain. One of my favourites is from Mission: Impossible when Anthony Hopkins tells Tom Cruise: “Well, Mr. Hunt, this is not called Mission Difficult. It’s called Mission Impossible.” And that’s exactly the spirit I’m bringing to my latest mission. I’m on a mission to fill THAT box with cool watches. Any brand. Any price point. Absolutely NO discrimination. Because if there’s one thing you should know about me by now, it’s that I don’t believe great watches have to come with a certain price tag, a famous name, or a particular level of hype. If it speaks to you, deserves a spot on the wrist, and brings a smile to your face, it deserves a shot. So, my habibis, here’s where YOU come in. 👇 Got a watch you think belongs in that box? 🚨 NWA 🚨 and one hell of a story… late in 2025 @sumtingclevor and I got a call from a friend at @tagheuer asking if we’d be interested in helping design a watch to commemorate the F1 race in Austin, TX. We immediately said, of course, and began the process to think about what would we use from a design element that would help accentuate Austin as well as make what we felt like would be a great Watch Over the course of a few months, we came up with some ideas and they were submitted into corporate fast-forward to earlier this year we found out the Watch we submitted was accepted, and a 20 piece production would be made. In September, I had the pleasure of picking up my personal example, but then waited another month till today for the watch to be able to be shared publicly. So here it is a TAG Heuer that I personally got to be a part of design designing. Leverages the Carrera Extreme Sport case structure, but with a carbon fiber case with Austin marked on the Tachymeter, Tourbillon movement, in the state of Texas etched on the Sapphire, case back with the state of Texas indicated by a star. The Dial clearly has the burnt orange that not only shows a little bit for university of Texas but also is the depiction of the sunset of Austin and Central, Texas. Lively discussions and excellent boyes provided by @thepigchicago Big thanks to @czapek_in_my_eyes and @thewatchenabler for sharing the Czapek history and amazing timepieces. His collection is HEAVY, but it doesn’t compare to his brilliance as an oral surgeon or, more importantly, the father he is to two incredible young soccer athletes. His energy is contagious. @drcharlesboyd — One of the first brothers to join our club and someone who inspires me in work and play. He’s your favorite doctor’s favorite doctor! His drive pushes me to work harder and enjoy life more. Above all, he’s a true family man with five beautiful daughters who are all thriving. That’s real success. @dnadoc53 — One of the most thoughtful and measured people I know. I value our conversations about balancing work, family, and watches. His relationship with his boys reminds me of mine with my son: close, intentional, teaching the value of hard work while allowing them to find their own paths. He knows how to remind you that you’re doing well while offering a fresh perspective that helps you grow. What I admire most about these brothers is the order of their priorities: Family. Work. Watches. In a hobby where it’s easy to focus on what someone owns, these men remind me that what matters most is who you are, the lives you touch, and the family you build. I’m blessed to call them brothers and learn from their wisdom and friendship. The watches bring us together.
