Happy Summertime, officially!! Getting the ball rolling on this substack situation before dear admin fairy Huck goes on a nice writing break for July :)
Submissions are OPEN for our blog! We decided to move things over to nifty and cozy Substack instead of having the blog on our website. Easier to share and network that way! Anywho, stay cute babes and please write!! xo ty ily

Join us for our Queer Poetry Showcase and open mic event!

After the success of last year’s Showcase we decided to bring it back with another panel of local queer poets who will be performing at the event, preceding the open mic!

This year’s Queer Poetry Showcase features Mothh, Linden and Becky Sue! Read more about them in the slides above!

Live on Monday, June 23, 7pm at Green Kill Sessions!

White Noise is a series of open mics created for artistic expression of all forms and welcomes performers of all kinds! We work to create and hold a space for creativity, and can accommodate any and all projects of the imagination.

!!THIS WEEKEND!!

We are celebrating 15 years of sonic community organizing and music industry disruption on Sunday, Oct. 20 at the MAAS Building.

All ages are invited to enjoy a festival featuring two stages and seven hours of live music, DJs, and VHS visual projections.

The event will also center on a facilitated community conversation about the politics of record labels and independent artistry, with guests encouraged to engage with a flash library of reading materials in the ambient reflection garden.

The scene will be fortified by food, handcrafted drinks, free narcan distribution, and a merchandise boutique featuring curated highlights from Astro Nautico’s vinyl, tape, and VHS catalogs, fall apparel, and rare one-off releases, test pressings, demo tapes, and more.

Tickets cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door. The first 60 advance tickets sold will receive a free random copy of 12’’ vinyl from the label’s vault.

🩵Happy Anniversary to “Multitudes.”
Three years ago, I invited 16 of my favorite artists to bring me their joy, pain, sorrow, shame, and rage, and we put it on display for what felt like the whole city.

I’ll never stop talking about this show because it meant more to me than I could ever express publicly.
Curating is something that I take VERY seriously. It’s working with artists to help them tell their story. Having lengthy conversations to understand meaning and process. Its being metaphorically being covered in paint over and over and over again until you understand the work in your bones. It changes you. Or, it changed me. Every time.

This was my Coachella, Lolapalooza, Warped Tour, Up In Smoke and Glastonbury all in one!
My dream line up 🩷 The most insanely talented women that I could think of 🫶 It was perfect.

I can’t wait to do it again!

Thank you @trishandersenart @kateburkestudio @mfowlerart @kaceesixart @nicolekangahn @christina.kwan.art @tiffany_latrice1 @jessica_locklar @lucyluckovich @apracticeinpatience @sheyda_m @laurenpallotta @beccabgood @kamrynleelu @laurashull and @gentlemothh
