Sin é mar a tá sé 🍀

Well sometimes it’s hard to even find the words. But what a weekend that was. From the opening circle at @hutthostel to the dip in Blue Lough in the Mourne Mountains, it was a weekend full of community, connection, laughs, jokes, a few tears and even a few side quests. We’re so grateful for each and every person who came to the event. And all the people in Newcastle County Down who made us feel so welcome. We will be back soon, the Mournes stole a piece of our hearts.

What a day, what a challenge and what a crew 💚
.
4 peaks, 4 Provinces, 24hrs for Pieta House
.
Our time 22hrs and 29 minutes
.
Our crew: Steven Hamilton, Alan O Brien, Ruth Donegan, Ronan Doyle, Ciara Neville, Frank Jordan, Conor Shovlin and last but not least our driver Geoff Hamilton who without we would have never completed it.
.
We started at the bottom of Lugnaquilla County Wicklow at midnight Friday night, then ventured north to Slieve Donard County Down, followed by a long drive out west for Mweelrea County Mayo, after a hard slog through a damp Mweelrea Mountain we headed south for the mothership that is Carrauntoohill. We left the van and headed for the devil's ladder, surrounded by the most beautiful mountains, we could feel the change in the weather it was about to get heavy, heading into the bottom of the ladder and winds picking up, we started our accent to the top. We're almost there, I had tears in my eyes looking at the mountains, fuck we've almost done this. So we headed for the peak, working hard heading up the ladder, it's flowing with more water than I've seen it have before, this is spectacular. As we reach the top and head over the ridge there's unmerciful winds, but we're in it now. We turn right and head for the peak. Reaching the peak and the heavens just open up, raging winds and torrential rain, but we've made it, we're at the fucking top. So we get our bearings and start to make the decent, this is a storm we're in. With a few frightened looks and plenty of teamwork we get back to the ladder and start to make our way down the ladder, we're all soaked and cold but the spirits are still strong, we've made it up the forth peak. Down to the bottom of the ladder and away we go we've a 3k run back to the mini bus, we're out of here. Mission complete ✅
