Is this the weightlifting? 🚪🤪🆘

Well done to all our experienced Olympic weightlifters today who took part in a qualifier competition ahead of the @bucssport tournament in April!

We’re super excited about the prospect of taking a team to the competition - it’s the first year Olympic weightlifting has been included in BUCS which means we now officially compete against other Universities in two strength sports, something that makes us unique from any other club at the University!

Mark has done a great job coaching this year, many of you wouldn’t have guessed it was his first year in the role! Of course, he was previously a member so it didn’t take him long to settle. He’s looking forward to the future of the weightlifting segment of the club and can’t wait to welcome new members next year using the current cohort as a testimony to his stellar attitude getting people involved in what is a complex and often frustrating sport to master.

@ljmu @ljmupowerlifting we’re just waiting on you getting a team together so we can put you through your paces twice over at Varsity 🤫

If you fancy taking your hand to Olympic weightlifting there’s still time to get involved before the end of the semester so drop us a DM 💬
