today’s post was commissioned by the fabulous @georgies_corner who herself carried out a Cornish beach sunset survey on her stories earlier this week. She suggested I do a post of my favourite Cornish sunset spots, so, as I adore watching a sea sunset more than possibly anything else going, I gladly accepted:
.
In picture order:
1) I mean, get a long, calm summer’s evening and surely watching the sunset over the vast expanse of the Atlantic at Land’s End has got to be on everyone’s bucket list? I would go so far as to say that if you’re looking to get engaged, this would be high up of the list of locations and moments to choose 🎊
.
2) obvs: my local, Trebarwith Strand, any time of year, any state of tide, preferably surrounded by your greatest local pals. Perfection.
.
3) Beloved Crackington; especially sitting on The Wall sipping pints from @coombebartoninn with the lovely residents of the Haven.
.
4) Watching a brooding fiery sun slip below the silhouette of Doyden Castle at Port Quin whilst 100s of bunnies come out to play. Better still, rent it from @nationaltrust and watch it from the living room
.
5) The romance of watching the Padstow fishing boats set sail for a night’s fishing under the setting sun from the cliffs around Stepper Point, with (6) thrill-seeking cattle adding extra interest
.
7) and 8) From the quirky humps of The Rumps: lots of fun vistas; great for picnics.
.
9) I had to include what will be, I think, my favourite sunset pic of 2020, capturing my daughter have one last splash before bed at Trebarwith in those halcyon beach evenings of late May
.

Happy Sunday! @georgies_corner here as you’ll have seen from the stories, we’ve just got back from a lovely day out at @trebahgarden.

We started off our visit with a visit to Trebah Kitchen for a delicious lunch and hot chocolate, which as always didn’t disappoint! My only regret is not getting a slice of the Victoria sponge - next time!

I find walking around @trebahgarden just incredibly peaceful, every bit of the walk around the garden is just so beautiful - I could have taken thousands of photos but I’ve narrowed it down to a few of my favourites. The private beach always reminds me of being younger visiting and being absolutely amazed that there is a little hidden beach, it’s still just as magical visiting as an adult.

If you’re looking for a day out to get you in the autumn spirit, I would highly recommend a visit to @trebahgarden. As with most places, you do need to pre-book your visit via their website beforehand. It’s a really easy system and very well organised upon arrival too.

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Sunday and enjoyed coming with me for a stroll around @trebahgarden ❤️

“I think it has to be Hayle beach, it is such a beautiful place! The sea is crystal clear, the days I’ve spent down there have been so wonderful and a reminder that even having lived in Cornwall for 20+ years, there is always somewhere new to discover!”

Where is the first attraction you’ll visit when you can?

“It’s got to be @trebahgarden for me, it has absolutely everything; gardens, a beach, and amazing food in their cafe! I have been going since I was a child and I just think it such a beautiful place to spend a day.”

And finally, what is the fondest memory you have of an attraction/destination spot in Cornwall?

“My fondest memories are at Marazion beach, we spent so many summer days there and it is also where my mum and her sisters spent their childhood so it is very special to me. And you can’t mention Marazion without @stmichaelsmount, an absolute must visit if you are in Cornwall. When I visited last year I spent a lot of time in the gardens there which I don’t think I’d ever explored before - always something new to discover!”

AD - Yes you read that right my first proper collaboration with Swedish outdoor clothing company @revolutionrace.

Big thanks to my hero @georgies_corner for her pro photography skills in the most flippant weather. Rainstorms one minute and blazing sunshine the next - classic Cornish Autumn 🍂 .

FYI feel free to pop me a message if you have any questions about this stuff.

For this collab I chose the Cyclone Rescue Jacket 2.0 in Coral (not my usual colour but I’ve got too much yellow). In all honestly I didn’t actually own a lightweight (proper proper) waterproof and this one ☝️ is genuinely a ten for me so far.

It’s got Recco technology too which is a type of rescue technology based on the harmonic radar system. It allows anyone with Recco equipment to discover you in either an avalanche or if you have lost your way. Pretty cool - I didn’t know such things actually exist ed!

I’ve got a 15% discount code which is KATETOCOAST15 available from 16/11 to 18/11.

If anything does take your fancy just double check the SIZING! My leggings are also really well made and have extra reinforcement on the bum and legs - only thing is they are a big long cause I’m a shorty.
