• Brand and Source: Georgious (@georgious.nl) • Curated, Narrated & Edited by HAUSLY (@hausly.arc) *Special thanks to Georgious for kind collaboration.

Last year I had the pleasure of photographing @georgious.nl at House of ICON, held at the historic Shoreditch Town Hall in London — an exhibition celebrating the beauty of interior design in all its forms, from Scandinavian minimalism to bold maximalism. Founded by George Barratt-Jones, Georgious creates high-end interactive lighting, installations and interiors that combine functionality with a sense of wonder. Their signature Slide Light transforms a simple interaction into a playful experience, allowing you to adjust the light’s intensity by sliding the lamp up or down. I love discovering brands that remind us that design can be more than something beautiful. It can invite us to interact, spark curiosity and bring a little more joy into everyday life.

Benieuwd? Kom gerust langs in Rotterdam. P.S. Adjusting your lighting by physically shaping the lamp itself creates an entirely new interaction ritual. 💡 - The Slide Light is a concept that merges tactile control with intelligent illumination, inviting users to slide the fixture up or down along a vertical axis spanning 90cm to 150cm. A smart sensor monitors which LEDs are visible outside the tube and powers only those, leaving the rest dormant to conserve energy. The addition of a touch dimmer further refines the experience, offering granular control over intensity, from crisp, focused brightness to a warm, ambient glow. This concept reflects a shift toward lighting systems that feel less mechanical and more responsive, where the design language prioritizes human instinct over digital interfaces. - Designer: @georgious.nl - Follow us at @yankodesign_official for the latest innovation in the product, technology and automotive designs. #industrialdesign #lightingdesign #lamp #lampdesign #lightinspired
